I use the goddess like a true gentleman.

No problems with gallery-dl at all. Sometimes it has to retry an image, but it's fully automatic.
I'm fine with using a script, but why the fuck does mangadex not provide a direct download option?

Annoying but tolerable. It's a technical problem probably caused by lots of users.
What really triggers me (and that isn't a technical problem) is that half the manga pages I click on are missing chapters due to uploader buffoonery. Either only a small portion is uploaded (12 chapters of a 100 chapter manga), or there's big gaps (chapter 5 -> chapter 69).
If you can't even trust that a manga is finished on mangadex, and you gotta visit an aggregator, why even use mangadex to begin with.

They closed the gate because they didn't want to process user apps, and then when people saw the rate of uploads slow down and wanted to upload chapters to help they found out that the webmaster had died and they couldn't reopen the application process.
