Hot girls.

Weekly Shounen Jump is more axed happy than Weekly Shounen Magazine. Plus there are lots of series doing better than S8 in WSJ where as in WSM there are quite a few series doing worse than EZ.

There's also the fact that EZ is just Fairy Tail in Space so it's more easy to get into for people who liked his previous series the characters designs are similar and in some cases exact copies like with Erza, Happy and Recebba etc. Shiki and Recebba have basically the same dynamic as Natsu and Lucy and yet despite all that FT characters still appear has cameos in background. So lots of pandering to fans of his old series where as S8 is pretty different than Naurto and there's only pic of Naurto appearing in S8.

Plus tons of fan service to pander to horny teenagers.

>Fairy Tail in Space
It's so easy to tell who doesn't read EZ, or just speedreads it.

People even wanted Samurai 8 to be Naruto but with samurai

>everyone thought it was going to be Naruto but with samurai, instead we got cybersamurai bs that train in an online game.

WSM has lower standards. That's it.

EZ is selling way lower than FT and most everyone seems to not care about it except for some Mashima dick riders like who swears it's nothing like FT and is "good".

>Why did Samurai 8 fail while Edens Zero succeeded?
Rehashed shit Vs. Tits & Asses.

>Rehashed shit Vs. Rehashed shit

FTFY

>EZ is selling way lower than FT
the anime is going to boost it

Just like Fire Force and DomeKamo

tits

Kishimoto is a hack who was carried by his editors

>Fire Force
Yes, actually. Went on selling 100k/volume after the anime.

Mashima isnt a lazy shit and drew his series himself

>Went on selling 100k/volume after the anime.
It was selling over that when it started and then went down again when people realized it as shit.

>Went on selling 100k/volume after the anime.
The first volume of FF sold over 500k before the anime and had a snowball effect that can't getting lower and lower unit it was doing below 100k, the anime didn't do anything.

Even if it's not a true statement, it's at least a better point of reference than anything S8 had.

More like Berserker in space. Mashima is on killing spree.

because EZ has waifus, a ton of T&A and a simpler story. Sam8 has a nerdy MC, a talking cat and only 1 or 2 girls, also the story was convoluted as fuck.

Mashima is a better writer than Kishimoto

This, his art, especially earlier, was very solid and soulful, but his animal obsession almost ruined whole Naruto

Both are trash but one runs in a magazine that lets trash go on for longer since it has nothing else.

The designs are shit. Seriously what was he thinking with that nerd Naruto wannabe as MC.

Samsung 8 was written by a retard.

Go back and read the first chapter of Samurai 8 and you can tell how much of a mess the story and setting were. It was rough to get through. There was no clear vision for what they were doing.

Because Samurai 8 was confusing as fuck and compressed with tons of exposition about subjects the reader knew nothing about and were not explained until much later on. Everyone went into the series understanding "samurai" as "armored dude with sword and/or spear who works for his lord", roughly the equivalent of a Japanese knight. Instead what we got (and not explained) was that a samurai here was "a former human who committed seppuku with a nanomachine knife and was forcibly converted into an android/cyborg, draws power from a shrine maiden girl through prayer, and fights with his soul on a stick created by his dog".

We needed a breakdown of each and every part of that to learn how this shit works, which is what Naruto did, but S8 didn't do. Also, everything seemed to be made of shapeshifting clay, so it was incredibly difficult to tell what was going on cause everything was morphing together all the time.

Edens Zero avoids many of these pitfalls by explaining the fantastical elements as they come up to the unaware characters, and if confusion arrives it's a plot point that the characters and the reader must solve. "What is Ether Gear?" It's using the life energy in your body like a mechanical system to create fantastical powers. "Who is Mother?" Nobody knows, let's go find out. "Why is this planet mysteriously 50 years in the past?" It's because of some giant negative space anomaly that's devouring time, and you really shouldn't have come here. "Why is one of our crew members suddenly missing?" Who?
It shows clearly what's going on, why the characters are asking the questions, and lets the readers speculate as to what's going to happen next. It's also got that standard Mashima ultra-fanservice going on, which attracts braindead morons looking to fap, who may stick around after to see if the articles are any good in the online porn mag they found.

>Samsung

+Times and ass are timeless.

damn

Kishi was always a bad writer but he managed to luck out with Naruto and people stuck with it out of sunk cost. Lightning didn't strike twice.

People only "read" Mashimas stuff for the fan service which he still does just as well as ever.

>People only "read" Mashimas stuff for the fan service which he still does just as well as ever.
Did you know that there are actually people invested in Edens Zero's story?
People like me? Crazy concept, I know.

woah

Which is weird since kishi said he had spent years working on the story

They still sold more than Samurai 8 ever did, and at least they have adaptations
