>Rui Kuroki (Production I.G's producer) announced at the Production I.G. panel at Anime Expo Lite on Saturday that Production I.G is working on an anime series in collaboration with Adult Swim. The company plans to announce the anime at what Kuroki called the "Virtual ComicCon" event.
>Kuroki stated that the work is "something Production I.G has never done before.”
>The "Comic-Con @ Home" event will be held from July 22-26 in lieu of San Diego Comic Con. There is also an Adult Swim Con online event that will be held from July 23-25.
Wow. What hasn't Production I.G. done at this point that makes this out of the left field for them?
Whatever happened to that Junji Ito anime that Adult Swim was involved in, did it ever air? I haven't watched Toonami in about a year. I'm wondering how AS got these connections in the first place. Toonami always seems like it's on the edge and about to fall.

The only Adult Swim collaboration anime I've enjoyed was Big O S2, so I'm not very interested.

>What hasn't Production I.G. done at this point that makes this out of the left field for them? You know what they haven't done? Despera anime, please make those fake seasonal charts come true. >Whatever happened to that Junji Ito anime that Adult Swim was involved in, did it ever air? It's still in production. It was said that things are going generally smoothly but that it also got impacted by corona. We might get more info about it at that virtual comic con later this month and I guess it will probably air towards the end of a year.

Weren't those horrible FLCL sequels enough?

Now I'm not saying you're a shill, but I am saying you're not from here and came exclusively to post this.

>IG X Cartoon Network colla in the pást >Immortal Grand Prix IG made the Based brown Latina tomboy!
Whatever it is, hopefully DeMarco and other burger executives don't have say in the creative process. FLCL sequels were probably doomed from the get-go but DeMarco's and others' involvement supposedly made it even worse. Iirc there was even an animator complaining on twitter about how it was pain in the ass to work with them.

>Toonami digs up that long dead horse's corpse just to beat it again. Wouldn't surprise me in the least.
