Look at ShieldHero. The anime absolutely bastardized the LN without producing anything of value. The early episodes, while tonally different as well, had some charm and was the highlight of the show. Things went down hill from there... and yet it's so fucking popular, fucking christ. At least I'm happy for the author's success.

I actually liked their antics after the 10th chapter. Hell, the walking home and Summer festival chapters were some of the most enjoyable ones I've ever read.
You know, There was some kind of... Balance between the pushful somewhat sadistic personality of Nagatoro and the passive yet evolving personality of Senpai.
And that was also the point where Senpai was also starting to grow some fucking Spine.
In my opinion, it kinda started to go downhill after Sakura was introduced and definitely after the zoo Arc (best Arc, btw), but there Is still some possibility for the series to recover recover, so i have some hope that Nanashi will improve the quality of the chapters after this shitty "First name" arc
