I really liked the "grown dude stuck as part of the clean up crew because he wasn't good enough to be in the defense corps" angle, gave me some early World Trigger vibes. The swerve in direction at the end threw me for a loop though.

This was actually pretty fun, I didn't read the synopsis so the reveal was pretty good and sets out some promising questions to be resolved other than just focusing on the goals of the MC. Also, love the buddy cop dynamic the two mains have.

The second work, Pochi Kuro, was a very early Jump+ title, and although it ended after 43 chapters it seems to be well regarded by Japs.
Presumably the author has a better relationship with Plus than WSJ (although the editors are usually the same people)
