For 5 episodes out of the 10 after the split the stakes consequences and ideals are serious and extremely grounded and and then all of a sudden with nearly no lead up they start punching through space time. Like why go through hours of having to think about the consequences of your actions and committing God damn war crimes during the apocalypse if you're just gonna say "Anime, Fuck yeah." 5 seconds later and erase of all of it.
