Alice in Borderland

This was unexpectedly a great read.

Yah, it's extremely underrated.

It made me appreciate life more when it was over, the author did a good job.

What kind of parents named their boy Arisu?

it was unironically kino, the hotel part was pretty drawn out though

The same ones that name their daughter Usagi

the beach or the j heart game? ah nah, j of hearts was a prison, lol

Except the ending was kind of bad. It wasn't horrible but wasn't a great conclusion either.

Don't talk about it. There are anons here that hate absolutely hate it without any explanation why.

This, the conclusion was also total bullshit. Epilogue was great and the build up before the 10 heart game started was I think perfect.

>tomboy love interest survives
absolutely kino

>tomboy

The games were great, the characters themselves were meh and the ending was garbage.

Spades games are bullshit. One is a literal death trap and another has a guy with perfect GPS and a blimp that supplies him with whatever weapon he wants on top of his lifetime of mercenary work. Fuck that death seeker not even hearts games were that rigged.

I mean it had to end somehow and the manga even joked about how it could end.

The fact it did that doesn't excuse the lame ending

tfw it only had two OVA which anyone barely knows.

but it practically was written in the title...

the prison arc was sorta dragged too

I didn't think so, I liked the games without the MC the most.
The beauty contest in particular since I had some knowledge of the subject.

I dunno why some people hate the ending so much, I think it was fine

I didn't care for it too much since this manga is worth reading for the games but I do think it was cheesy.

I don't hate it but it's still a substandard ending. Very heavy handed which is saying something since the series never shied away from very blunt prose about the value of life. Arisu is a complete retard accepting anything from Mina when the game rules are so stacked against her all they needed to do was tell her to fuck off with her tea time and get back to playing. The mind trip is cool but kind of melodramatic in an annoying way and the epilogue is nice but answers too much about what happened when they introduce the meteor shower which is already fucking weird even for this series.

It was an Ok ending but not much better.

eh, I think it was creative, and the ending or the answers for all the suffering weren't that important as the author hammered it hard in the last game, the take away of that whole shitshow was learning how to value life

I remember one of the first Spades games had a guy with guns. I bet Spades players were meant to take their weapons so they're ready for the King later.
MC got bad joke games where your reward is a plate of food.

The first spade game was the best one.

I loved this edgelord

The NEET bald edgelord was better

One of the better death game manga out there.

Any other underrated, lesser known but equally good reads?

The prison was the best part what are you on about
