This scene is elevated when you know that they were fighting against impossible odds and while they may have saved the day and won the battle, the war goes on but that character will not be around to see it through. They leave all hopes for a peaceful future in the hands of their friends/family.

The objective problems with One Piece are in it's delivery.
Hunter x Hunter is a much better version of the same show.
The art style in One Piece is nonsense.
The plot in One Piece has zero tension, because there are no over-arching consequences.
The action is terrible.
The character design is "take two things that shouldn't fit together, and put them together"
There is zero possibility that the main cast can ever lose or die.
It's not exciting, it's not interesting, the girls have one personality trait- constantly increasing boob size.
The sub and dub are both horrendous but in different ways
