Why did they make Near more intelligent than L?

He’s not. He’s effectively a deadman switch that L created in case he died. Near just copies all of L’s mannerism and logic, he has no mind of his own.

>Being able to work thanks to L´s contributions in the first place.
>Only being able to win thanks to Mello´s sacrifice.
Nah, he even admited that he alone wasn´t at his level.

I didn't think "being autistic" counted as a unique mannerism.

they wanted the tranny audience

L would of been able to figure out Tanaka had the death note. Near is a faggot.

I liked Near. Fuck you all.

They weren't exactly subtle in the messaging that only Near and Mello combined could equal L

he's not, he's just more autistic

He's specifically isn't autistic. L being autistic and unable to get body language/social ques was why he lost in the first place. If he was neurotypical all else being equal he would have been up on Lights shit real quick.

Light was smarter than L and had a magical advantage, the game was rigged from the start

what about Light? Is Light's IQ higher than Near's? It'd seem about the same. L was just fighting a very unfair battle against Light but almost always being able to catch him despite all of the disadvantages.

>L being autistic and unable to get body language/social ques was why he lost in the first place
How so

>Light was smarter than L
no, he just had massive advantage.

Death Note would've been better if they focused more on characterization.

iirc the author said L was the smartest character in the series

I don't disagree, they should've used the 2 special episodes for that, and that's what I was hoping they'd do... sadly, for whatever reason, it was just a shittier recap of the anime.

I wasn't bullshiting you, user

Why did they give Near the better theme?

intelligence =/= smarts. light had more knowledge on how to improvise and bullshit his way through things, evidenced by his social popularity

>intelligence =/= smarts
Dude really now? In that pic the author is basically spilling the reason for why L managed to counter Light despite him not being on the same level

>Still believing in databooks.

Why are they so thin

>They weren't exactly subtle in the messaging that only Near and Mello combined could equal L
Somebody please remind me, since it's been over a decade and I can't remember the details, how did Mello contribute to the plot/getting Light caught? Not being sarcastic or anything, I just have a bad memory. I recall Near being smart and making plans but what about Mello?

sacrifices himself so Takada will die and that's how they manage to tamper with the real Death Note or something along those lines. He also gives Near some leads on the Death Note, like the 13 day rule being fake and the Shinigami Eyes.

l us a slut for yagami

>Death Note thread
it's not 2008 anymore grandpa move on

diet of rise and seafood

someone had to end the series, shame they could only come up with Near

yeah can't wait for another moeshit Mr. zoomie.
Fuck off back to redit.

2008 was the peak of anime

weird way of saying 1995
