Jojo

Just finished Stone Ocean, moving onto Steel Ball Run but I'm confused. Why is SBR not set in the new universe created at the end of Stone Ocean? Why an alternate universe?

Funny Valentine did nothing wrong. Lucy Steel deserved it.

Crackpot theory. When Cream swallowed Avdol he was taken to the Steel Ball Run universe and he is the grandfather or father of the Avdol who was in the horse race

SBR wasn't initially meant to be connected to JJBA, or something like that.

Are you Speedwagons cousin Speedreader?

>Part 6 ends with a new universe coming into existence and history is rewritten
>Part 7 is set in an alternate universe
>they aren't connected in any way
I mean, it worked out but the timing must have been confusing as fuck

"This is ‘Stone Ocean’.
The end.
>But this is not right, not at all, it feels wrong. The fact that I’m feeling accomplished should not be a good thing.
It’s like a red light is in front of me, what should I do?
This is what I was thinking then, until I had an idea.
Go back to the origins! Isn’t this how Renaissance happened in Italy, going back to Greeks and Romans concepts in classic art?"

"Additionally, by connecting the concept of "rotation" to "rebirth," then ideally the story would return to its starting point. It's through this reasoning that I convinced myself that SBR had to be set in the same time period as Part 1, that being the end of the XIX century."

Oh...i thought it was the same universe, just in the past of this new alternate universe that we saw at the end of part 6.

>SO advanced the timeline so far that Araki had to reset the universe for SBR
>JJL takes place in modern times
What’s Part 9 going to be?

In the future, Jojo with advanced tech and robots will be interesting

i want this too

Sometimes I wish I had been a little Japanese kid when Stone Ocean was running. Imagine going to the store each week to buy the newest issue of Jump and excitedly reading One Piece as Luffy and the gang go to Skypiea only to turn the page and see Jolyne being turned into a fucking snail.

SBR didn't start as a new JoJo part, SO was supposed to be the end for a while. Then they just decided "fuck it, let's continue with JoJo".

A treasure hunt across Europe ending in Liverpool similar to how Stardust Crusaders covered all of Egypt, India, Pakistan, etc. Part 9 will cover France, Spain, Germany, Baltics, Poland, etc.

We already had the travelling story in part 7. Part 9 will be like part 5 and 6. Criminal organisation and prison.

Part 9 could take place in Gyro's home country maybe similar to how Part 4 was solely restricted to Morioh.Major plot twist would be how Marco survived and the whole dying of flu stuff was just to stop hitmen looking for him under his new identity he is now the mayor/rule of Gyro's country after a coup

Part 8 is already in Morioh only.

I was using Morioh as an example

Imagine if Part 9 did take place in Gyro's country and it was about that starting WW3 by invading some other European place.

Part 8 is already a criminal organization with doctors.

Parts 7 and 8 already have references to everything from parts 1 to 6, except Giorno (or at least I can't remember who represents him).
It may be something completely new.

Will there even be a part 9?

I'm hoping for at least 12 parts in total

Valentine is a reference to Giorno

How?

dubs confirm, Cyberpunk or Space Age JoJo is part 9.

Araki's already 60 though, unless he goes back to releasing JoJo weekly, chances are we'll only be getting one more part

Weekly releases wouldn't change that, since the chapters would be shorter.

I believe araki's view based on his answers to that very question is, probably but if he dies then no. He doesn't want to make any definite statements and raise peoples hopes then die of a heart attack at 65 or something.

The monthly chapters aren't that much longer, Stone Ocean had 3260 pages in 3 years and SBR had 4290 in 7

>Why is SBR not set in the new universe created at the end of Stone Ocean?
Baggage?

It is in the new universe.
