Lain, by the affect of Arisu, goes 'rogue' and resets everything. At least that's how i vaugely understood it.

Arisu was cool. It was understandable that she would freak out when the god stuff happened. She still went out of her way to look out for Lain after all the shit with the rumours was spread. That scene with the heartbeat was really touching. I am glad she had a happy ending and that Lain seemed to come to terms in the end as well.
