Should I watch evangelion rebuilds?

NGE and EoE feel like a perfectly fine, self contained story that would be ruined by a forced sequel and so far I've heard a lot of mixed opinions on the rebuilds.

What do you think about them?

Yes! Do it!

You like stoopid?

No, especially if you are Reifag

Just check out the OST and Ramiel fight scene, the rest is skip worthy

depends on what's stoopid

like stoopid stoopid

me like stoopid stoopid

Then watch it, but feel free to skip any parts that seem boring, cool robo-fights are all you are getting

Just watch them. What the fuck do you have to lose? And don't say time, you are on Zig Forums.

It’s not a sequel it’s an alternate timeline

lmao, you're right

The first one is an ok re-telling.
The second one is a pretty interesting alternate take, even if inferior to the original
The third is a pile of shit.
All aboard the hype train for 3.0+1.0

Only after taking 17 hits of acid

only saw the first two, I was pretty upset at the time but I don't think they're bad, I just feel like NGE works best as a series and some of the changes weren't that good/were just fanservice

the new interpretatios of the angels were nice, Ramiel in rebuild 1 shapeshifting was really cool

should i continue to respire?

No.

the nature of Rebuild being a sequel has yet to be canonically explained within Rebuild.
That being said there are 4 planned films covering Rebuild but only 3 have been released. If you don't want to tease yourself you can wait till the 4th film is released to watch it all.

1.11 is a straight up remake of all the episodes up until the end of the Ramiel fight. Every fan should watch it just for the eye candy. 2.22 is Eva, but in a bizarro land where all the characters are suddenly tropier versions of themselves + eye candy. Don't take 2.22 or its characters seriously. 3.33 is Shinji suffering porn. The first half hour is literally filler, then you get cool action, followed by Shinji gaying it up with Kaworu and then a batshit crazy conclusion. You'll get most of the enjoyment from trying to figure out the insane lore.

Rebuilds are definitely worth watching, even if they're not even a fraction as good as NGE.

>The third is a pile of shit.
you sad faggot

The first half hour is the best action though. Anno is a huge nerd and he could do that whole Wunder launch sequence.

I just feel like a 30 minute sequence of people starting up a sci-fi battleship doesn't belong in a movie series already strapped for runtime. I might have been more lenient on it if there wasn't as much CG and shots of the bridge and more mechanical animation. The color composition of the scene (and the ending sequence) is pretty bad too - all reds and dark greys - which makes the whole screen feel cluttered and diminishes the action.

You can skip 1.11, nothing really changes apart from the reveal that the ocean is red within the first 5 minutes.

Something is very wrong with you. That scene is fucking awesome and also drops a lot of plot in the dialogs. It seems you got used to the monster of the week formula of the show that you can't handle anything different.

It's like 3 hours long with a trillion dollar budget. Watch it unless you're a retard who can't keep your feelings for the rebuild and its characters compartmentalized from your feelings for the original and its characters

Watched 3.0 on 3 tabs and it was actually great

It's fujo pandering bullshit

>Should I watch evangelion rebuilds?
Yes, but only after watching the original series + End of Eva.

Consider Rebuild as fanservice, but have hope; 3.0+1.0 might solve everything. Also, if "thrice upon a time" is what I think it is, start studying quantum mechanics.

Is the user that got gypsycursed to watch the entire series on acid here?

Cringe

>if "thrice upon a time" is what I think it is
A science fiction story by Hogan?

user, I...

What do you think "thrice upon a time" is, user?

I just want it to be the missing movie between the second and the third. And then no conclusion to the third movie, at all. Never. Let the butthurt begin!

Nah I mean, what do you think it is? Beyond the mandatory sf classic namedrop title?

I can't get into details right now but please ask yourself, why does Shinji see Rei at the beggining of the original show, even before meeting her?

I'd consider the original anime, the manga and the rebuild all canon things, btw.
