It's kind of odd to think his art was ridiculed when he started. He even won some manga competition, and they attached a note saying to viewers saying "hey, we know this drawing sucks but it's pretty badass."
He has massively improved though. Some of his recent art reminds me of Kentaro Miura's panels.
