I just finished the fishman island arc. everything has been pretty kino and fun. does it really get worse?
Zig Forums is ruining one piece for me
No, there are some very touching moments ahead, as well as interesting battles, intriguing developments to the mysteries, and new characters that are pretty lovable.
My advice, switch to the manga from this point forward, its pacing is far better.
WCI BUT IT GETS ALRIGHT AFTER
One Piece never gets bad it just gets worse
If you liked fishman island you’ll enjoy the rest.
/thread
The story does take a small dip in quality in the arc after punk hazard but after that it comes back all guns blazing
>fishman island arc
>kino and fun
if you got that much shit taste then you can keep going on, you're probably gonna enjoy everything else
if youve already accepted how they massacred Franky and Choppers character designs from pre timeskip to post.... then you'll be fine. it gets better.
agreed, fishman island is the most pointless fucking arc.
Fishman island sets up multiple things, including Jinbe joining the Straw Hats, Luffy gaining the respect of the nigg- er, excuse me, fishmen, learning about Pluton as well as that boat (cant remember its name, The Ark or something cheesy like that), and sets up the conflict between Luffy and Big Mom.
And that's not including other smaller things like Poneglyph and Joyboy, Caribou, and so forth.
Fishman island was really short anyway. I'm not sure why it makes trannies seethe so much.
It is literally the opposite of pointless it begins so many different plotlines that lead to Whole Cake Island and Reverie turning out the way they do. Sure the arc isn't that great and drags way too much but say it's pointless is just dumb.
Skypiea is a pointless arc, but that also doesn't take away from the fact that it's a top 5 arc anyway.
>Skypiea is a pointless arc, but that also doesn't take away from the fact that it's a top 5 arc anyway.
I've been on this arc for like a year now and can't finish it
Stop listen to Zig Forums for advice about shounen. Watch the series for yourself and take shit posters with a grain of salt.
It was the biggest slog for me as well. But getting to the end is truly worth it. Enels ending, the celebration afterwards, and Water 7 are peak One Piece and beleive me I could not stop watching from that point on.
Preference I suppose, it's a love or hate type of arc. A lot of people like it because it's the purest form of One Piece - adventuring into the great unknown and exploring that world's culture, history, people and conflicts. But because it introduces so many new concepts to the series it can be slow at times. If you seem to have trouble getting into this arc you could jump to when the survival portion of the arc happens where everyone's split up and heading for Enel as it starts to speed up from there, or you can watch the Skypiea special that came out a few years ago if you just want to get through the arc fast but without skipping over it entirely
>does it really get worse?
No. Keep reading lad, this place it's full of retards.
Post-Timeskip definitely isn't as consistently good as the Pre-Timeskip but that's because it has to compete with Alabasta, Skypiea, Water 7, Enies Lobby, Sabaody and Impel Down. It depends on who you ask but for me Dressrosa and Whole Cake Island were on the same level as the aforementioned arc with WCI being a personal top 5. Dressrosa drags on a lot unfortunately, if it was 10-15 chapters shorter it'd be very close to a top 5 arc for me too
One of the few long-running series that gets progressively better as it goes on. Don't listen to the narutards of dbzcucks
It's the worst arc in the series and I think less of every user in this thread for having read it
Pre-TS gets looked back on fondly for being comfy and fun when in reality most of the arcs really aren't that great. Dressrosa is just a more interesting and grander Alabasta and Fishman Island had way more going for it than most of the arcs inside of the East Blue Saga with the exception of Arlong Park.
If you've been enjoying Fishman Island, you'll prolly like most of the things coming. I was disappointed by most of post-timeskip, but Wano has been bringing the hype back. It's not all bad tho. It's just not consistently good. WCI had some good parts in it.
Also much of post-timeskip was a build up of Wano
>eight years on samurai namek with the entire story and every character in it including the Pirate King sucking off Oden and his testicle massaging satellites
Oda has lost his touch
There are some high points and hype moments but it honestly degrades after the time skip. It loses its charm
It's called world building homie
Yeah you will enjoy the arcs coming up next. They are leagues better than Fishman Island in my honest opinion. Not to everyone's taste but I really liked Dressrosa.
You have until the times skip until it becomes 100% bad
I can make it as far as Dressrosa Arc (629-746) before thoroughly becoming disgusted by what it has become. past which point, I can count the number of good episodes on one hand.
read the manga, its superior in pretty much every way. when you finish an arc, go back and watch OP's and listen to OSTs for greater immersion.
people conflate Toei doing a shit job with pacing and animation as One Piece getting worse, the manga is still as fantastic as ever and if you enjoyed fishman you'll have a great time going forward.
Zig Forums is full of speedreaders and contrarians, you're over 500 chapters/episodes in a series you're enjoying stop listening to angry basement dwellers giving shit takes
Why would you ever listen to a Zig Forums board? Here's the thing, anons can have good points and decent criticism. But you also have to understand most of it comes from a place of shitposty contrarianism, especially for something so popular. So read Zig Forums all you want, but have the will to disagree and form your own opinion.
