Honest question should I keep my boxes or just trash em since they take up lot of space? i haven't been doing it and i feel guilty since lots of the ones I got at conventions were pretty but I had no space for them.

you can trash some, especially the low price figure or the one with a pose simple enough where buble wrap is enough to keep them safe

Between 30% to 40% of your figures' value IS the box. You'd literally be throwing money away if you ever want to sell them. Also it's much easier for when you move to have the blister packs and boxes on hand than to just throw all your valuables in a tote and chuck it in the truck.

What would you class as a "Low price figure"? I got one for $70 and it had a few stains on it but generally it was in good condition and I kept the box.

That's admirable but your tastes may change over time. I recommend still keeping the boxes if you have a place to store them.

I personally had no problem with Cameron's Alita, and it doesn't even register to me as one of my issues with the story in this Franchise. I really do appreciate your perspective here though, since I think a lot of people are just throwing around "facts" without anything to substantiate them. Experience always trumps something that someone saw in a meme that one time

It only matters if you plan to resell them and think the box will make or break the sale (which it may or may not). Super common stuff, you will have a harder time moving because they'll just move on to the next sale with a box intact unless there is a significant price drop on yours. Rarer stuff, you can get away with more because they're more desperate to get the figure at all and less likely to hold out for one with a box (or NIB).

i would recommend keeping them in case you ever move house / decide to store some away or even sell

You can trash nothing, unless it's some prize fig packaging which usually have no clamshell, even in the latter throwing it away would be pointless since you could just fold them thus they'll virtually occupy very little space.

It's turbo easy, probably easier for many figures, unless you have to use a moving company or take them via air.
