What's the edgiest anime/manga ever made?
Edgy doesn't necessarily mean bad.

Rape Namek
Dead Tube
K-On!
Mahou shoujo site
When I think of edgy, the first think that comes to my mind is this
Arifureta
i'm 5 episodes in and it has still yet to have made a point with what the fuck is even going on. It's a 12 year old's power fantasy in almost every way.
i'm morbidly curious if it will actually develop into a story or if the MC is just going to continue amassing cringey attack abilities so he can become the top edgemeister while idolizing his literal vampire loli.
i don't believe anything of this show isn't inspired by a videogame or other anime.
Trash.
No, really. That's the name of the manga.
Hellsing was always more "cool" than "edgy" although it had edgy moments.
what's so edgy about Hellsing anyway?
Elfen Lied - the 00s were edgy and emo.
not THE edgiest, but Devilman Lady is up there, to the point it becomes funny instead
Elfen Lied
There were many edgy moments, user.
>Vampire girl sucking vampire boy's cock just after they killed a bunch of innocents
I have always found Bungou Stray Dogs to be an edgefest. It has no point whatsoever other than the characters being edgy. It fails even as fujobait.
>Edgy doesn't necessarily mean bad
Yeah it does. An edgy show is a dark show that is bad. Because edge lacks any form of subtlety or nuance.
the main character literally wears a trenchcoat and a fedora
First time I've heard BSD being described as an edgefest given how often it aims to be comedic. It's ultimately pretty hopeful for what is basically a crime thriller with superpowers, though it can certainly get edgy when it wants to (Akutuguwa, Steinbeck, the entirety of Decay of Angels).
The opening chapter of the manga adaptation for Beast is peak edge though.
I've always thought that Hellsing was more silly than edgy, but that might be me overestimating how tongue in cheek it is.
From the top of my head, Elfen Lied or Higurashi
I think I expected something more interesting with all the /lit/-baiting it does, but it feels like I'm watching a battle shounen after a while. Akutagawa and Chuya in particular walk around like edge-lords most of the time.
Goblin Slayer
Overlord
Tokyo Red Hood.
Trash is actually pretty based because it doesn't take itself seriously.
edginess inspires cringe. Higurashi isn't edgy.
I don't think that's a prerequisite. Edgy means reveling in darkness or evil, almost paying tribute to it
all edginess is cringe but not all cringe is edginess.
This or Ichi the killer from what I’ve seen. To be truly edgy you have to be a tryhard and those two take the cake.
>edgy doesn't necessarily mean bad
Thank the heavens this is finally becoming common sense. I know it's the most obvious answer possible but might as well get Berserk out of the way early.
Easy.
Hellsing always seemed a bit self aware and campy to me
