is it safe to say that two of the most popular manga released were both influenced by Togashi?
How can one man be so based to create two different works that other mangaka needed to copy off of to get any success.

Fucking up so badly halfway through so that people will get upset and write their own version.
Well Mashima created Rave FT and EZ
If you think Naruto was influenced in any way, shape, or form by Hunter x Hunter or anything else Togashi made you are beyond retarded.
>hunter exam>Ninja exam
>Hisoka>Orochimaru
>Nen chart> Chakra chart
how can you not see the similarities?
True, it was a literal ripoff rather than an influence
yu yu hakusho is better than bleach and hxh is better than naruto though
also
Scarlet eyes>Sharingan
killua/illumi>sasuke/itachi
>Kabuto has tried the exam plenty of times already, serves as a plot device to introduce the other participants, is actually a bad guy
Literally Tonpa, i can't fucking believe of much of a shameless hack you need to be to copy and paste like that
>Exam with a trick setting
Idea clearly stolen from the two choice quiz
>Exam that takes place in a forest over several days where you need to steal rey scroll from other teams
Literally the the 4th phase of the hunter exam, followed by the tournament phase of course
>Kakashi's test is having the students steal the bells from him, he nonchalantly evades them making fun of them
Literally Killua and Gon trying to steal the ball from Netero
>Magic red eyes, entire clan wiped out, vengeance plot line, evil brother, mysterious bad ass organization
Togashi is such a good guy for not suing the fucker
Togashi is friends with Kishimto
Id be pretty pissed if my friend stole all of my ideas.
Pretty sure Masashi Kishimoto said that dragonball
inspired him to make something similar which is why he made Nartuo
If anything Bleach is less of a rip off of Yu Yu Hakusho than Naruto was of HxH
They probably shared ideas with each other.
Weren't Kubo, Mashima, and Oda all assistants of the guy who did Ruroni Kenshin? Shouldn't he get credit?
>hunter exam>Ninja exam
I'll give you that
>Hisoka>Orochimaru
That's dumb. Orochimaru is pegged as the main antagonist from Day 1 who radically shakes Konoha and his motives are a complete mystery.
Hisoka is more like an anti-villain, only there for a good fight. He wears his motives on his sleeve and doesn't seek to radically change anything, rather, he sits and waits for the people around him to progress. The most he's ever done for any of the main cast is choose not to kill them or tell Kurapika about the auction.
>Nen chart> Chakra chart
Hardly similar at all. You'd have to be braindead to claim as such, especially in a genre where power systems are the norm.
>Scarlet eyes>Sharingan
This is a particularly dumb claim as it shows a complete lack of knowledge in regards to tropes, which probably means you think HxH is a deconstruction as well.
Special eyes isn't a new thing in Japan, especially not red eyes. It's a trope, a trope tied to (in particular), ninjas. So it makes sense Sasuke has special eyes that turn red.
Additionally, one of Kishimoto's one shots depicts a clan with red eyes, and it was released before Hunter x Hunter began publication.
>killua/illumi>sasuke/itachi
Fucking horrible comparison.
Sasuke, as stated by Kishimoto himself, is inspired by a Togashi character. That being Hiei, and the similarities are there but it blatantly ends at inspiration. Sasuke does not function at all like Killua or Hiei. While Killua is a deuteragonist to Gon in the first few arcs, and Hiei is a villain turned good guy, Sasuke functions as a character that progresses parallel to and separate from Naruto, taking up probably at least a third, if not half, of the screentime from Naruto the moment he shows up in Part 2. He is in fact one of the most unique rivals in Battle Shounen.
And the Itachi comparison is dumb. Illumi wishes to manipulate Killua and sees not fault in himself for doing it. Itachi is just completely different, and I've run out.
>is it safe to say that two of the most popular manga released were both influenced by Togashi?
Try almost everything released. Togashi, like him or not, is the most influential mangaka after Toriyama.
both are creepy pedos and are obsessed with one of main characters.
also tropes or not the scarlet eyes story line a la whole clan murdered just like the uchiha. is so blatant its insane.
i think you could say Demon slayer is influenced by Bleach and Naruto desu
>Literally Tonpa
How. Tonpa functions as a fucking side obstacle to overcome, and once he's overcome he seizes his function in the story. Kabuto genuinely helps out the main group and is the reason they pass the exam at all, and it is later revealed he is an antagonist within the same arc.
>Idea clearly stolen from the two choice quiz
Naruto gets by without answering a single question through showing resolve. Gon gets by by showing ingenuity and uniting his other 4 comrades as one to make it through Trick Tower.
Not similar beyond the superficial.
>Literally the the 4th phase of the hunter exam, followed by the tournament phase of course
Not really, as the second phase of the Chuunin Exams is more tied into qualities needed for a ninja, in addition to it not even remotely going through the same motions as the fourth phase of the Hunter Exams, with most of its conflict being centered around a single day wherein multiple character grow and develop in ways different form Gon, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio.
Additionally, having a tournament isn't anything new for Battle Shounen.
>Literally Killua and Gon trying to steal the ball from Netero
Not even remotely similar. The bell test is about encouraging teamwork, and the group actually passes through showing teamwork.
Netero's ball game is there to highlight the difference in character between Gon and Killua.
I have never seen a more blatant misunderstanding of two series in an attempt to discredit one in my fucking life.
>Magic red eyes, entire clan wiped out, vengeance plot line, evil brother,
These are ninja tropes you fucking retard. And Illumi isn't evil unless you look solely at the superficial. He's a possessive older brother, that's the point.
>mysterious bad ass organization
Not new for Shounen and the Akatsuki functions completely different from the Ryodan.
What the hell are you on about?
How did Naruto rip off HXH? Naruto’s pilot chapter was published in 1997 and HXH debuted a year later. Oh sure, Naruto’s first official chapter came out in 1999, the series groundwork was laid before HXH came out.
Even beyond shit like that, these series are nothing alike. Naruto and Gon are nothing like each other, and neither are their character dynamics or plot lines.
I’m sure if you reduce everything to the bare minimum you could find similarities, but the core experience of these series are not the same.
>It's not the same exact thing, look, I'm listing things that differ
Kek what a brainlet
>both are creepy pedos and are obsessed with one of main characters.
Hisoka is obsessed with multiple characters within the story and unlike Orochimaru (until the last 60 chapters), Hisoka actually helps out the main characters at certain points, and doesn't seek to corrupt them like Orochimaru.
Orochimaru and Hisoka are quite literally polar opposites in terms of goals, motives, and relationships.
>also tropes or not the scarlet eyes story line a la whole clan murdered just like the uchiha. is so blatant its insane.
Those are both tropes. I know you're a fucking newfaggot who watched the shitty 2011 anime for HxH and want to make horrible, awful fucking posts on Zig Forums, but learn your shit before posting.
Additionally, Kishimoto made a one shot about a clan of guys with red eyes, BEFORE HUNTER X HUNTER CAME OUT.
When it came to writing Naruto and he realized he needed a rival, he lifted from that story and to make Naruto and Sasuke similar, he had Sasuke's clan be killed by his older brother, which is, again, a fucking trope.
You fucking people talk like you have some authority, and blatantly show how unknowledgeable you are. Additionally, if it was plagiarized, Japan would've fucking dogpiled Naruto if it was as blatant as you claim, like what happened to the mangaka of 666 Satan who had a "similar art style" to Kishimoto (reason for that being, 666 Satan was drawn by Kishimoto's twin).
Here's your (You) for this bait.
I guess that means I win?
List the surface level does not mean something is a ripoff.
Is HxH a ripoff for CA, an arc where an amalgamation of multiple species declares himself the greatest evolution, and the current MC loses themself in anger? Apparently a tournament arc is enough to be called a ripoff now, so should HxH pay its dues to all that came before for having two non-standard tournament arcs?
What about the Phantom Troupe? Surely Togashi must of been ripping off the Red Ribbon Army, I mean, they're both evil organizations, who cares about the role they server in the story.
This is the fucking hole you dig yourself into when you just say "This thing and this thing sound similar" and don't look at their narrative purpose. Because now HxH is a blatant Dragon Ball ripoff and Togashi should go pay off Toriyama's numerous debts to the government for tax evading.
>Hunterfag delusions
How cute.
So what exactly fix with Bleach? Didn't he just make an inferior version of YYH?
everything is a rip off of DB though
Bleach seems influenced by Saint Seiya.
Chad was a main character that never did anything
damn kubo
>the most influential mangaka after Toriyama
No. Even if focusing in Nekketsu, it'd be:
God of Manga Tier:
Tezuka
Titans of Manga Tier:
Nagai
Kurumada
Toriyama
Kings of Manga Tier:
Togashi
Araki
If you include other genres, Rumiko Takahashi would also be more influencial than Togashi. Not familiar with the history of guro/horror, sports, and romance manga, but you probably also have a few people more influential than Togashi there, possibly including Kago and Takahashi (Yoichi).
I cant believe kubo ripped off leorio
