You wouldn't be wrong.
He really is.
were there any ten story dumps?
I'm glad there's an agreement. I can't imagine anyone reading the last arc of Ten and not getting teary-eyed at several points
I haven't even read Ten yet, I think that Akagi is the best just from reading the eponymous manga alone.
And watching the anime of course, back in the day.
not yet, we only had kurosawa so far and the weekly kaiji dump
kurosawa-user wanted to do kaiji too
i think an akagi/ten dump could be fun
>akagi dump
That would be hilarious
Did you cry as well during the final arc?
Hiro and Harada's conversations with Akagi were incredible.
That's interesting. I liked Akagi from his own manga too but it left me feeling like there was more to be explored in terms of his character. Not saying that as a negative, the Akagi manga only follows the early years of his life so it's natural
They should do Ten because it's a lot more obscure, but the second half is a masterpiece.
Literally me
I didn't just cry, I wept hard. I want to say it's because I've had family members pass from terminal illnesses, but I think there was something more to it. I've never seen fiction tackle the topic of life and death in such a multi-faceted and brazen way before. It was transcendental imo
I agree. I would keep crying for days after. Incredible work, never again has another manga reached that level for me, it's just impossible, it was Fukumoto's magnum opus.
Absolutely. I actually thought the main bulk of the gambling was much less engaging than in Akagi and Kaiji, but those final three volumes snuck up on me and really knocked me on my ass, especially after following Akagi for so many chapters. I'd love to see the series eventually get translated and released in English officially just so I could own those final three volumes
what's the ultimate guide for FKMT works
Is it really finished? I might as well reread at this point
Why is Akagi kill?
i wonder what Harada is up to in Hero.
also, was this guy the real thing? or a fake?
yes
fkmt threads never last as long as they should
HERO's entertaining so far but what really irks me is that the mangaka couldn't make up his mind on whether he's copying FKMT's style or doing his own style.
it definitely grew on me over time
This motherfucker and his face, I swear. Also the metaphors in this are like regular FKMT metaphors but on crack, I can't wait for pic related to happen in one of them.
are all the live-action dramas on FKMT's stuff good? i've never actually seen any of them or the movies, but know that even Gin to Kin was adapted. very curious about that one.
was it kino?
Anybody like Gin to Kin?
I've only seen Animal World (Kaiji first Arc) and was pretty good. Keeping aside the Clown Alien Hunter
Ughhh...I don't remember there are white dude and a clown in Kaiji.
Michael Douglas is jewish, he's perfect for FKMT manga
International cruise, and international cast (every gambler/actor came from a different State)
About the clown... we don't talk about him
Because he is
On his final gamble against the other geezer, how did he match his tiles perfectly every time?
There's no trick, you can just suppose it is God giving Akagi a last bit of magic before he dies
