Genshiken is a masterpiece. The characters are believable and have a lot of depth. The plot and humor are on point.
Not even going to bother with the 3rd season since they changed the VAs.

I don't know if that season covers Nidame, but if it does then you aren't missing out on anything. It's a garbage piece of shit sequel.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it 4 times but I can only remember the blonde hair girl doing monogatari references. I don't even remember any of their names. Though I remember liking it.
Is there a name for this phenomenon? I think it's happened one other time where I picked something up and half way through the series thought "Wait a minute... I've seen this... TWICE"
If I remember correctly third season is Nidaime, and it was really not good.
I liked the first two seasons even if it was quite slow. Ohno reminds me of my best friend/fuckbuddy
Anons, don’t tell him about Spotted Flower. It might be too much for them to handle.
Genshiken in the manga and anime was fantastic up until Oguie got introduced and then it started to fall apart. From Nidaime onwards it was absolutely terrible. Also it is the only manga set in a uni that I can think of apart from Moyashimon and Silver Spoon.
Daidoujin Monogatari was similar but only about Comiket and vastly more retarded, and also got cancelled.
>Also it is the only manga set in a uni that I can think of apart from Moyashimon and Silver Spoon.
Werent most Molester Man characters students ? It's not set up in a uni but it's quite close
People used to be all over this here but it was just not interesting to me at all, I feel like ImoSae is basically the same kind of concept but way better.
>Also it is the only manga set in a uni that I can think of
You what?
The season with the all girl cast is terrible. First two seasons are great. Is the Genshiken banner still used on here?
I do think that Genshiken's quality dips in Nidaime just because the whole harem plot is retarded but I grew to like the new fujo characters a little bit. I just wish they would've kept the focus on Sasahara.
That's not normal?
Only S1 was good.
>Also it is the only manga set in a uni
Honey & Clover comes to mind
I should rewatch or reread it, I remember it being cool
This. The forced harem combined with the crossdresser made it hard to read. That shouldn't have been the main point of the story. Also pic related was great.
>good looking
>doesn't hide his power level
>good at Guilty Gear
>fucks his girlfriend doggystyle to watch anime
>cross-dresses to sell games. Still a better trap than that faggot from Nidaime
Kousaka was extremely based
The first season had a good and fun description of the anime fans back then, the second season describes fans of a few years later when anime and manga gained different kinds of audiences. Just compare how the different groups react on Kuchiki. The story itself is comparable, but the people it describes differ greatly, Madarame is used to exemplify this.

But nidaime was great.

Now it's stuck in my head.
I watched it while struggling to find a job even though my degree is good from a great university.
Sasahara's struggle hit me hard, i think this is when i came to realize that humor, references and general subject aside, the people there act like people- and it's a good show.
anyone checked the raws for that genshiken-but-not-really spinoff? madarame self-destructing was pretty great, i guess translators got mad about the trap
I thought it ended after it turned into a lemon, but did tls just drop it? There's more?
Genshiken always made me want to be part of close knit group of otaku. I just know that if I joined the anime club at university that it would be full of retards who watch BnHA over and over.
A shame the mangaka made it his life work to ruin the one good series he's written.
I was iffy on Nidaime but luckily best girl won in the end so that gave me a little satisfaction
>All that shilling of Guilty Gear in the first season (and KOF in the OVAs)
>Kousaka never actually cosplayed as Bridget despite Tanaka's suggestion
I was unironically mad about that.
Have there been any interviews or notes where he took a victory lap over BTFOing his fans with that
Are there any other intentionally incomplete anime like the Kujibiki OVA? That shit is my fetish.
Dropped this around ep 7, I think. Yeah, the characters acted like real people you'd find in an anime club in the 2000s, but that's precisely why I avoided anime clubs in the 2000s: they were insufferable. And the non-otaku characters were even more obnoxious. Ohno was alright but I mostly just felt sorry for her. Fuck I hate anime.
I disagree
You're getting old
I was fine with most of Nidaime, but this girl annoyed the hell out of me. she couldve been completely left out and it'd probably be a better series because of it
