Yes and no. There are times where they have to fight something or use abilities but this isn't a battle series. Its an occasional change of pace when they occur but its a once every several arcs kind of thing.

if your really bothered by it you might be able to skip to chapter 54 since the anime was almost an exact one to one adaptation stops at that point and so does the ESL translations.
You do skip over a small 10 chapter arc but only 44-45 have any plot relevance, the rest is just a short arc of Iruma temperately joining the student council and Amelie having a personalty switch due to a demon otaku using magic.
