I'd say 80% of the story. Even if he started liking Chitoge, he would have dropped her for Onodera if she asked him for a while.

Hell, he would have up until the very end if it weren't for Chitoge going full emo runaway, forcing him to go after her and choose her out of concern for her safety.

i may be misunderstanding you, but chapter 199 pretty much spells out that he loved her more than onodera, which is way before chitoges tantrum. seemed to me most of the wavering after that point was just him not wanting to lose one.

He would still have chosen Onodera if she confessed. Chitoge throwing a tantrum over potentially losing made him decide he couldn't choose Onodera over her anymore.
