Shut the fuck up. Why are you spamming this dumb shit you tranny fag?

A japanese girl who gets an email from a friend who recently comitted suicide, goes online to try and find out why, keeps going deeper and deeper down the /x/hole until finding out that the bottom of the conspiracy vortex is her, that she's the thing haunting the internet, and her whole normal life was a farce to groom her for the role of Net God and turn the internet into an afterlife so her self-appointed pope can be loved forever by proxy.
Did you just stop listening to what the characters were saying?

I am not spamming it, it was deleted thje first time, so i posted it again. Janny must've made a mistake, this is clearly anime related.

Funny enough i made the same thread on Zig Forums and it's still up.

it's about a cute girl trying to form connection with others but you wouldn't understand cuz, first, you are not a cute girl, and more importantly, you gave up to cynicism long ago user, you stopped trying and just use excuses made up by your brain through logical bullshit to cope with the existential dread that looms over you, what went wrong user?

>What the fuck was this show even about ?
suicide
peer pressure
feeling detached
feeling alone despite being around others
peoples egos
addictions
conspiracies
finding ones own purpose
the real you and the internet fake you that you personify online to hide weakness and personal anxiety
there are lot of other themes but this is the few I can think of.

Your voice is tolerable.

girl's super ego turns omnipresent after she logs on to the internet which is now affecting the real world after being tuned to earth's vibrations
it's not that hard

stop being a plot baby

>let's rip off Evangelion
??
sums it up super briefly

>My careful and thoughtful explanation of the show got deleted
i want to Lain myself so badly.

Fuck you you piece of shit!

Mods rekt this thread please!

You fucking scum, I hope you die. How dare you do that to Lain.

Hang yourself.

Please call her an autist so you get schizo'd

And they are beating the shit out of you, just like here. Make the whole site a favor and kill yourself.

cringe

...

i didn't get to watch it fully and i'm a little busy, but i'm one of the people who don't take the show fully literally. Regardless your nice way of dealing with criticism and the thought you put into it was cool. i'll pay attention to your channel, unless it isn't you and you were memeing.

maybe it's time for a rewatch.
I couldn't really understand what was going on the first time I watched.

If you are OP and made the thread without even remembering what happened.......

It's like a lynch film. The point is to be weird and not have a point to trick the deepfags. Thinking lain is deep is a taste filter.

l only watched Mulholland Drive and it was deep.

not saying this is the case with lain per se
but you know you can find meaning and themes in something that wasnt intended to have any?

Just say you didn’t get it

I'm somewhat of a lynch expert. I've seen multiple interviews where he tells people to fuck off for asking him about meaning in his films. Sure you can interpret his films and put meaning into them, but you can do that with literally anything. You can take a shit and say it had meaning. Mulholland Drive is a good film but it doesn't inherently mean anything

>Sure you can put meaning into them
Yes.
>but you can do that with literally anything
Yes, but not really. You could say that a man taking a shit on a regular toilet is symbolic of class relations or whatever, but that statement would be more immediate and profound if the man taking the shit was wearing a top hat and monocle or something. It's true you can say anything of anything, but that's only half the battle when it comes to interpretation.

>fuck off for asking him about meaning in his films
fuckoff as in dont look for meaning?
or fuckoff as in I just spent hundreds of hours and millions of dollars making a movie, if you cant figure it out, youre fucking stupid?
because there are plenty of artists that say the latter
how do you know if something "inherently" does or does not mean anything
you cant get into the creator's heads
a creator saying something is meaningless doesnt matter because they could be lying or their statement can contradict whats being shown in the piece of media

Maybe he doesn’t want to spoonfeed his audience. I think David Lynch appreciates interpretations a lot, so maybe he doesn’t explain anything so the fans have an interpretation of their own.
Anyways talking about Lain again, and it is not like a Lynch film in the sense that almost literally everything is up to interpretation. Lain has a clear plot, a clear character arc and they explain just enough for you to understand.

Works like that and Lain offer questions and not answers. They give you a subject matter and make you part of the creative process instead of you silently consuming a story and that's it. That was the whole point of Lain and it gets hinted at in the series itself. The scenes are not random, but you as the viewer actively choose from which angle to approach the story. Of course the creators would tell you to fuck off if you ask what they mean. That's the question Lain asks of yourself. "What do i mean to you?" and you take all the scenes and believe one of the many possible interpretations that you create yourself, based on what's already there, which is a lot. Every scene is dripping with meaning, but the triumph of Lain is that this meaning is ambiguous enough to support a variety of interpretations, but they are still not random. The scenes obviously convey something. it's up to you to interpret them. A poem isn't shitty because it doesn't come with an epilogue at the end telling you what you were supposed to feel and what specific images it was trying to convey. The whole point of this kind of art is that it creates an active link between the work and the viewer.

Id say Lain offers answers as well
ex. dont indulge in the world of advanced technology
dont neglect your body or your personal life just because you think your online persona is all you have to worry about
etc
