I think I remember this scene, but I don't remember it being this bad.

That's not forced, it's just bad.

"Forced animation" is a thing yes, but Akira isn't guilty of it. It's just one of the few anime movies where they recorded lines first and then animated instead of the other way around, allowing for more detailed lip flaps.

When I think forced animation, I think of the girl trying to eat fried chicken I think?

>And whada’ we ‘av here huuuuh? Are you the FUUUUUNERAL directoooor?

Imagine being the voice directer for this dub back in ‘88/‘89 and hearing Cam Clarke (Or was it “Jimmy Flinders”?) deliver this line in person. Fucking legendary.

maybe if there was sound it wouldn't look so weird

I genuinely can't tell if the original dub is better or if I just like it for nostalgic reasons

This forced meme again? The acting in this scene isn't intended to be realistic, idiots. It was animated by Satorou Utsunomiya, experimental animation icon of the late 80s and 90s and one of the most influential figures of his time.

this is good, you're just used to the simpsons being terribly animated

Nobody is bothered when you say "forced acting", so why is forced animation a term which causes asspain? Animation is just acting - that's all it is, that's all it ever has been. Acting is based on situation and context, and so is animation.

We literally had this thread yesterday. Keep at it and you are gonna get banned for spam, OP.

I know Zig Forums nowadays would probably roll their eyes at lines like “Men! We’re going to the olympics!” but when I hear this sort of stuff a bolt of lightning shoots up my spinal column and I throw my fist into air exclaiming “Fuck yeah!”.

Who the fuck would do that given the exact situation is happening right now in the real 2020?
Why do you think people are so spooked by Akira right now?

Uh, I thought that was the norm for all kind of animation.

>forced animation
>artificial difficulty
>dishonest cinematography
What the fuck is wrong with this site nowadays? Does every board need to have their own version of this shit?

Cringe

Based

>it's true

>I SAID IT'S TRUE YES AND YOU BETTER NOT SAY NO AGAIN
Jesus fuck redddit, what a shitty sect.

Akira is still the best piece of 2d animation ever created. It looks fucking incredible almost consistently

Retard toddlers who think "inventing" words makes them smart.
>dishonest cinematography
Tv maybe?

It's a non-descriptive phrase.

They're influenced by lowbrow "news" websites.
