Little Witch Academia

I didn't enjoy it, therefore it isn't good and you are wrong. that was easy.

Mediocre adaptations are disqualified from being the best anime of a given time frame.

Totally correct OP.

>Mediocre adaptation
t.retard

Totally incorrect OP.

t. Yuasadrone

Correct and one of the best Lucifer, evil portrayal recently.

Explain why it's a bad adaptation ? you can't because you're retarded.

Could have been great, but suffers from rushed production and QUALITY like every Netflix anime. I don't fucking understand it, they're not bound by TV schedule and this shouldn't happen, and yet every Netflix exclusive is unpolished as fuck.

They made ryou out to be a crazy idiot in the anime when he was equally scared as akira was when they decided fight against the demons

>ruins Miki's and Ryo's characters
>adds retarded, pointless subplots that make the story even more awkwardly told than the manga was
>cuts so much stuff about the demons in general
The only good things about it are that it doesn't do an awkward time skip over the war at the end and I think the track stuff it added was done very well.

>QUALITY
That's just yuasa style, you pleb.

I am a Yuasafag (his work in Mind Game, Tatami Galaxy, Shin-Chan, Kaiba, Kemonozume, Samurai Champloo, Fujiko Mine, Cat Soup and Night Is Short was great) but this anime is mediocre. He did a great job but let’s face it: Devilman sucked

That's a fake personality. In the manga Ryo and Satan are essentially different characters, while in Crybaby there isn't this divide.

I thought it was pretty great but best anime of the last 5 years might be pushing it a bit. It's not even the best Yuasa anime of the last 5 years.

That's the source material's fault.

It's essentially the same, he had his memory wiped by Jenny, the anime just does a shit job with it and prefers having Ryo as a psychopath.

I know, it looked great, but Devilman is a relic. Influential, there to be explored and innovative, but not really good. I don’t think it stood the test of time.

>the anime is shit because the source is shit despite the anime barely following the source
You guys aren't good at this are you. Like 60% of Crybaby, a conservative estimate, is Yuasa's garbage and not from the manga.

Yuasa skipped all the weekly monster stuff that no one cares about, and condensed the essence of the series into 13 episodes. it's a good adaptation.

>demons are real
>btw wanna do some drugs with me

It was comedic.

>It's essentially the same
Not even remotely. Everything about Ryo is fake, included the memories of his friendship with Akira. It's a difference rooted in the backstories of each version of the character: manga Satan intentionally disguised himself as a human and brainwashed himself and Ryo, while Crybaby Satan was reborn as a child and later met Akira, their relationship is real as is the Ryo personality, that in this case actually is the same as his Satan one.

*himself and Akira

It's 10 episodes. And not only did he keep the weekly monster stuff, he made it worse, like with the turtle demon with all the heads in his shell. Though to be fair that seemed more an adaptation of the OVA rather than the manga. Neither adaptations of which adapted that fight in a good way. The water demon had Yuasa's own retarded setup of the gravure photos thing.

So in the manga he's just evil for the sake of being evil ?

They both are, to some extent. It's Satan's nature to do what he does (which is apparently in a later manga said to be a loop of Satan destroying Earth and God cleaning it up). I don't know what that user is talking about though since Akira knows Ryo in the manga too. And in Crybaby it still has Jenny holding onto Satan's memories. All in all Crybaby is pretty poorly constructed so maybe those kinds of plot differences slip through the cracks of Yuasa's poor direction brought on by trying to make his original additions mesh with what he actually decided to adapt of the manga.

it was unexpected....it had no right to work out well but it did

>I don't know what that user is talking about though since Akira knows Ryo in the manga too.
Those memories are fake, they were implanted in him. It's actually shown in one of the stories of the Shin Devilman manga.
>And in Crybaby it still has Jenny holding onto Satan's memories.
Jenny watched over Ryo since he was a child, and eventually awakened his memories of when he was Satan before being reborn. It's an entirely different scenario.

trps dont lie
