It will have 1500 chapters in total.
500 of the 1500 will be rifghtfully considered garbage.

One Piece is often repetitive but Water 7, Ennies Lobby, Marineford are better than anything Togashi has written in his life. He cant even dream of reaching the emotion and the intellligence of Oda ever.

Both definitions actually. Disappointing because there is a lot of build up in the arcs, unexpected because they never capitalize on that build up yet still end in a fulfilling way. It's a good subversion of your typical shonen arc.

And yes, Pell and other characters like Pound surviving their situations with no explanation are asspulls, on top of killing the emotion of those scenes.
