Zig Forums's unpopular opinions

I hate the fact that anime has become popular.

>unpopular

It's Zig Forums's unpopular opinions, not unpopular Zig Forums opinions. Outside of Zig Forums, people generally think things becoming popular = good because they have more people to talk to.

Not an unpopular opinion but I hate the fact anime hasn't even benefited from becoming mainstream.

Zig Forums would become better instantly if /sh/ was made for any series that was ever published in WSJ.

I don't mind CG too much.
Especially when it's just used for background characters and crowds.

>It's Zig Forums's unpopular opinions, not unpopular Zig Forums opinions. Outside of Zig Forums, people generally think things becoming popular = good because they have more people to talk to.
Nah. Hipsters like you are extremely common.

Lolis are fucking great.

this, since it still mostly markets to Japan with everyone else pretty much pirating or paying greedy streaming services
I don't understand this post.

Cowboy Bebop, TTGL, and EVA are mediocre at best.

just like Zig Forums got better after /vg/ was made

Nichijou is shit

Correct

/vg/ made Zig Forums worse because it has no specific criteria for threads, so only the most popular series get generals. /vr/ made Zig Forums better because it focuses in on a specific subject.

>Hipsters
Am I going to have to drag out the 'degradation of a fanbase' image again? There's nothing wrong with territorialism if it's to protect or maintain the level of discourse and to keep the demographics clean. Once the main public gets around to viewing anime you start to get Netflix originals but before people start the >da j00s shitflinging contest again, let's agree that we all hate newfags and move on.
Only wrong on TTGL. That show hadn't any weak parts. Great ideas and great executions. NGE is some cringy literal who's sob story with empty symbolism. Cowboy Bebop I haven't seen because >it's old so it must be good.

HxH is unironically the greatest manga of all time.

He's saying there should be a /(sh)ounen/ board where shounenfags can talk about their shounenshit published in Weekly Shounen Jump.

Objectively wrong opinion.

we said unpopular opinions for Zig Forums, not the undisputed dogmas

2 for 1
A: The Fullbring arc of Bleach was objectively Kubo's magnum opus
B: Sadpanda has irrevocably ruined Zig Forums

>B: Sadpanda has irrevocably ruined Zig Forums
Most threads are from more than two year old shows with people posting about wanting to cum in this or that loli. Coomers need to fuck off, tbqh.
Level of discourse can be really low at times.

Not sure if unpopular or not but moe and pandering series don't work for me because I need to see characters in action during serious situations to get interested in them. It's similar with porn, where I prefer h-doujinshi of a character I know from a non-ecchi show over an OC that doesn't exist outside of the hentai.
Moe and comfy scenes are like that to me. They don't work when the characters don't exist outside of that harmless story but I do like it when characters fighting in wars and shit get to appear in a harmless show or scene because it feels earned and shows another side of them.

That's a lot of purple prose to justify your masturbation habits.

How can you have an unpopular opinion on a website where everyone is deliberately contrarian?

Well I didn't say it was anything more than masturbation habits. It's just that it's sadly rather complicated to trigger, would be better if I could just care about SoL characters on principle.

it quarantined the katwa shitjou autists so that counts for something

>I hate the fact that anime has become popular.

Has it really, though? Moreso than, say, 10 years ago? Far as I can tell, anime is still seen as social-outcast shit, even if Internet critics pay lip-service to stuff like Violet Evergarden.

I don't like j-pop OP/EDs.

No way, more people have had encounters with anime than not and more people feel entitled to give their opinions about it. I feel like this has diluted the entire industry by virtue of removing the novelty. When some subintelligent Turk recommends SAO to me, I feel a sharp pang of disgust and regret.
I think the younger generation is also increasingly more intertwined with Korean/Japanese culture. The problem, ofcourse, is that this makes the entire fucking culture look like some product you could get at a supermarket. When Kim K is posting Zero Two on Twitter, it makes you seem less like the hobby-group the otaku community was in the 90s and the early 00s and more like another tool watching Superbowl.
>inb4 why do you care about what other people do

Example of something popularly liked you dislike?

>unpopular opinion thread
>first post is one of the most popular

what did he mean by that?

Funny, I came here to post that HxH is unironically a bad manga. Togashi is good at creating complex and interesting situations, but he is bad at story-telling, and even worse at making a manga. No one would even care about this manga if it didn't get 2 very good animes.

president kanye will make Akira the national anime

Zig Forums had down and upvotes before reddit made it cool

>epic/fail
>bump/sage
>u mad
>newfag
>based/cringe

Nichijou is the greatest anime of all time.

Asobi Asobase is the only funny comedy anime to have ever been created.

99% of all OPs/EDs to be honest. I just don't like the genre on principle so I guess I dislike almost every opening that is popular here.

I think a lot of Zig Forums shares this opinion. It's brought a lot of undesirables (by Zig Forums standards) to the hobby. This has led to Netflix and other western companies making a financial stake in this industry, with generally negative results.

Evangelion is trash

I would call you a retard but this is an unpopular opinion thread.

>mainstream
>I hate it now.
It's true. 90% of mainstream media is devoid of any soul, or will soon be

Attached: IMG-20200216-WA0034.jpg (534x543, 28.17K)

It's almost like anime/manga getting popular had the opposite effect, instead of it becoming more profitable It just garnered Japan negative press
And invited some media outlets and journalists to gaslight Japan over the "underage 2D drawings" thing.

Kaguya is the worst comedy anime in the last 20 years

Cromartie High is shit. There are a few good jokes, but overall it isn't worth watching/reading.

All-girl anime are better when they are gayer.

I thought this was a thread for opinions that are unpopular OUTSIDE of Zig Forums.

>but he is bad at story-telling
Kind of agree. The Chairman Succession Arc was all over the fucking place. He writes intelligent dialogue but the actual story was as simple as 'car chase, gon saved, presidential election hijinks'.
Based assimilating Borgmericans.
Not Zig Forums related.
It relies on slapstick way too much. Can't really enjoy a show which tries to make you laugh. Nichijou was funny in that it alternated between relaxing (iyashikei) and ridiculous.
That's a pretty unpopular opinion. Which OP would you consider OK?
Yeah but you will only hear this opinion expressed on 4chin. Everywhere else extroverted retards jump in joy and laughter at the mention of their favourite interest getting a goatse from Netflix and the unidentifiable hoi polloi.

Dubs are okay
Series about cute girls doing cute things are utter garbage
Lolicon is creepy as fuck, but gets a pass because they are not real

I like Space Dandy

Lolis are very problematic, sweaty.
So are dekai oppai.
It's time that Japan started bending over backwards for our American prudish values.
Remember Stacey Dooley sperging out over GuP being pedophilliac? Well strap in because we're in for a whole lot more where that came from in the coming years.

Give it some time before irreverend nameless normies discussing their favourite top 10 popularity on MAL show ask you what you like and you reply with 'yama no susume' or something of the like. You'll get fucked, you will.
Shows that typically only go for some juvenile idea of 'comedy' fall flat very hard. All the best comedies are drama first.
Back in your containment board, dyke.
