The Wano country arc was supposed to be the best arc in the manga so far. Yet it managed to become the worst arc in manga history.
>Shit pacing.
>Barely any fights.
>Shitty side characters.
>No stakes.
>The antagonists are jobbers.
>Shit flashback.
And this was supposed to be better than Marineford? What a bad joke.
What went so wrong?
It's your fault for still following One Piece after the time-skip. I had to give up after the garbage that was Dressrosa. It's dead, Jim, move on.
>Shit pacing.
>Shitty side characters.
>No stakes.
>The antagonists are jobbers.
>Shit flashback.
That sounds like every OP arc ever produced.
This.

It's embarrassing honestly
One Piece is going the way of Fairy Tail in recent arcs which is a real shame given the heights pre timeskip One Piece reached
Can it honestly be redeemed at this point? The only reason I still follow it is for the history reveals but we've gone a thousand chapters with nothing substantive, and Oda's been worse than ever with his fakeout reveals and silhouettes lately
people were saying this for literally every arc before its conclusion. Wait till the end of Wano (also will be the end of the yonko saga).
I was thinking this way up until the latest chapter which gave me hope things would really improve from here on out and this could turn into one of my favourite arcs
>b-but Wano is good!!! shut up shut up shut up !!!
Pretty much. Let loose and live your life of newfound freedom.
what's with the recent hate for One piece on Zig Forums?
>worst arc in manga history.
I know nothing about this arc, but I can tell you that what you said is impossible, there are probably far worse arc than it in Manga history. (just look at SnS final arc with El hermano )
Probably the fact it went to shit with the timeskip, if I had to guess. It's one thing to be a bad manga, it's another one entirely to be one of the best and have a fall this colossal.
Timeskip was a mistake.
One Piece was already showing signs of degeneration before the timeskip. Thriller Bark and Marineford are honestly just as bad as the post timeskip arcs.
Who the fuck ever said it was supposed to be better than Marineford?
Why would you set your expectations so high for One Piece of all things?
Wano is just as mediocre as the past five arcs and was just an excuse for Oda to draw cutie classical Japanese geisha.
I'm honestly not sure why you would expect anything different.
One Piece is One Piece and it will always be. Why do people think it's going to suddenly flip a switch and advance?
The point is that it's consistent, familiar, nostalgically stale.
Thriller Bark was absolutely fantastic
HOLY PLEBOLA
Wano will end like the other new world arcs which were all shit.
For people who only care about a big drawn out Luffy fight at the very end, there's something to look forward to, but I always found Luffy's fights boring and overdone so I'm not sure why I even still follow that garbage.
Don't forget:
>forced character shilling and unfounded hype
>new pointless subplot introduced every five chapters
>Jinbe
>Yamato
skeleton-man is cringe
one-eye zoro is edgy
usopp has always been cringe
nu-nami is horrifying
chopper is annoying
frankie is a freak
sanji is totally neutered
luffy is the new naru-jesus
All of SHs got worse, but nu-Robin and fat fish fag are the worst members by far.
what's wrong with Jimbe
Usopp putting adding gains is literally the only decent post-TS design change.
Oda is overselling him. It's cringe when he makes people who barely know him suck his dick so intense that it's completely uncharacteristic for them. He also had the role of being Luffy's mentor figur and as such it doesn't fit for him to be Luffy's underling. He automatically has a status which no other SH has. It's as if Rayleigh joined the crew. Furthermore, he and his "issue" are utterly boring. Arlong, Tiger or Hody are all a thousand times more interesting fishmen because you can see how the racism shit affected them deeply, whereas Jinbei is just a random spectator who happens to be strong. What's so interesting about that? Nothing. His entire setup also feels artificial with him being one of THOSE chracters who had a past with Ace in order to fast track an emotional connection to Luffy. Not to mention that he's disgusting to look at. Seeing the fat fish fag is simply off-putting.
Lastly, he's a screen time siphon for the other SHs. He's strong so he'll take away panel time from zoro/sanji, he's knowledgeable about the world so he’ll take away screen time from Robin and her infodumps, he can be the voice of reason instead of Nami, etc.
I think Thriller Bark was alright (though it was anticlimactic to off a Shichibukai in a single arc), but I have to agree with you. People focus on the timeskip because it was a big change, but it only continued trends that had been going on for a while.
Thriller Bark was amazing. Marineford was pure clusterfuck garbage so yes it was already on post timeskip levels.
popular bad
new bad
old good
well Wano is all about overselling. The Oden wank should tell you everything you need to know about how heavy handed Oda is being
One piece has literally become a shadow of a shadow of itself. Yeah it's not a typo.
To me it's because of the huge number of characters Oda has to give focus to, and people want the grand fleet and marine to come, yikes.
