*Sigh*, this manga is such a fucking masterpiece, it's truly sad what's happening to it. What I truly want to know though is this:
Does Togashi not care anymore about the story or is his back issues really that grave? I just wanted some answers, if he doesn't care then fine, be honest with us so we can kill our hopes already, but his silence is honestly deafening.

>From an outsider's perspective, the series I'm writing right now might look like it's a serious chore, but personally I am enjoying it very much. When I was younger, I used to be barred from doing things I'd really have liked to. Now I finally get to do stuff that I enjoy.

Togashi could do what Miura is doing. Hire a team to do all the work and just "oversee" things.
If he didn't care anymore, he'd just get a wageslave and pay him to finish it while making millions out of the license.
If he doesn't finish it. It must be because he has some problems (back pain got worse, he got cancer, Naoko got pissed of him masturbating to idols all day, IRS figured out that he was evading taxes, Shueisha is fighting over some merchandise issues), or because he decided to finish the arc before releasing it (because it waa hard to follow, because he wanted to hire a bunch of assistants and paying them for 2 months worth of work per year is unfair, because he decided to do foreshadowing better, or because Shueisha doesn't want to apwnd money celebrating HxH aniversaries because of Hiatus and thus he misses on advertisement).

That's really my only complaint about the hiatus, would be nice if he had some type of social media so he could give the occasional update, maybe post the occasional new design or 1-off panel..Wouldn't even need to make a post on the account more than once every few months - Just anything would be nice though

Since we're past the half mark, I'm starting to think more and more that we won't be getting any chapters this year either. It's horrible, but honestly, if Togashi wanted to go at a pace of 10 chapters a year he could have made enough chapters up until now for him to release 30 chapters next year and catch up with his 10 chapter a year schedule (again, if that's what he's aiming for).

On the one hand it would make the wait somewhat easier since we'd be assured that he's doing something, but on the other hand he might get a lot of hate comments how he still isn't putting out chapters yet he's posting on social media etc.
Yeah that's a good point, can you imagine actually feeling entitled enough to new chapters that you hate on the guy that created the series you like though

That's a controversial topic. On the one hand, he doesn't own anything to us, but on the other hand, he shouldn't give any false hopes to people and just openly drop the manga if he doesn't want to finish it or say "you know what, I'm going to do the chapters when I feel like it so the schedule will be erratic and who knows when stuff will be released". What he's doing now is psychologically hard for the fans.
As for his back pain, for him to have such high pains for the last two years (hell, for so much more than two years) would make it a serious situation which probably requires surgery or high level analgetics like opioids. As far as I'm aware he didn't go through any of that, but I might be mistaken.
Could Hisoka use Bungee Gum Resurrection again and again. Or was it just a one-time thing?
Is he even still complaining about back pain though? I know he was mostly having issues at the end of greed island / early CA arc stuff but he posted a lot of stuff in author comments over the years about he'd gotten healthier, lost weight / exercising more and all that stuff. Also him having 2 kids and managing time with them could also be slowing him down some, though I'm not sure how old they are. Still as long as no one would send mean things to him, I still like the idea of him having at least a twitter or something

I agree, but I don't really think it's possible for him not to get backlash online if he made an account and started posting. That's just the way people are.
