What do you mean 'miss'? There was a bump one last week. Still based /ar/ thread

>When the last eagle flies over the last crumbling mountain
>And the last lion roars at the last dusty fountain
>In the shadow of the forest though she may be old and worn
>They will stare unbelieving at the last unicorn

>When the first breath of winter through the flowers is icing
>And you look to the north and a pale moon is rising
>And it seems like all is dying and would leave the world to mourn
>In the distance hear the laughter of the last unicorn

>I'm alive, I'm alive

Bitch stfu there’s like one every week just be patient.

I only miss post-200 anime threads. Zoomers know all about obscure 1980s OVAs but have never watched azumanga daioh or rozen maiden.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? DAMN YOU! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

Got that on DVD. It is do for a remake.

Why do unicorns get rewarded for remaining loveless virgins?

>It is do for a remake.
Fuck no. It's perfect as it is and aged just fine.

Yes, harpy tits need to be preserved.

>Horizon rising
>up to meet the purple dawn
>Dust demon, screaming
>Bring an eagle to lead me on
>For in my heart I carry such a heavy load

>Here I am
>On Man's Road

If I recall correctly, they're immortal fae-like creatures that are too pure to know uniquely mortal concepts such as love, hatred, and regret.

Looking at The Hobbit and Sleeping Beauty and so much else in the past several years, I can only imagine how hard they'd fuck over The Last Unicorn. Truly a frightening thought.

Speaking of which I did not realize The Last Unicorn was anime. Any more than The Hobbit or Inspector Gadget or Thundercats or anything that outsourced to animation studios in Japan.

Basically all the "european" cartoons up to some point in the late 80ies, early 90ies maybe. Nils holgerson. Calimero. Grisu. Plenty of great shit.

>but have never watched azumanga daioh or rozen maiden.

I've been here since 2008 and I still haven't watched these, Eva, or Fate even though I've seen threads about them for over a decade.

Honestly I don't see the point of those threads: all they do is talk about how cool are the same 20 to 30 shows everyone talks about.
If only they were, I don't know, subbing obscure anime that never got fansubs, let alone localizations, it would be neat. Instead is just "man, Ashita no Joe is so cool" post no. 159195785432987591780.

Man, Iria Zeiram is so cool.

I'll do it eventually, they just don't seem like my thing though, not for their time period though.

I usually miss them but I try to come here when I can, most of what I come here to talk about isn't that, anyway.

Even so, it's only because we're so bottlenecked, I'm sure on a proper /ar/ there'd be room for more discussion.

Yes. Yes she is.

Nah, it would be way worse.

If /vr/ is anything to go by if they made an /ar/ it would almost always have at least one thread screeching about how the early 00s are totally retro too

A protagonist far too cute for a series that's fixated on a hat monster.

this shit was my jam when I was like 5 years old
it was on a Kenny Loggins cd my mom had and when it came on I would interpretive dance to it for her. man I'm glad she didn't record that shit.

>it wouldn't be like /vr/
>proceeds to describe something incredibly similar to /vr/

yeah, alright. No less this also ignores the fact pre-2000s manga would also be on /ar/

Regardless, this is the only time I can post about old shit nobody cares about, I never want these threads to end.

Nah, that's the kind of dichotomy you want

I remember reading the book
I don't remember much more other than that but I remember that I did read it

I didn't really start watching anime that didn't just air dubbed on TV until I got my own computer for the first time in 2007 and I've kept current until now. I only started getting into watching a lot of old anime two years ago but besides the most popular hits among all of the eras I have mostly been watching stuff in chronological order starting in the late 60's onward. I am just getting to the point in the mid 80s where OVAs are starting to become more common.

So at this rate the 2000-2006 era will likely be some of the last stuff I clear out of my backlog, and that'll probably be years away.

Not really. What do you think he was talking about when he mentioned shonen?

>this is the only time I can post about old shit nobody cares about
Nothing keeps you from making a thread about an old anime you want to talk about. If people wants to talk about it, they'll talk about it and if they don't want, they won't no matter how many generals you make.

I wish this site had smaller and slower boards. I'd rather just have the couple hundred of circle jerkers than the avalanche shit show that retro gaming has turned into because of ecelebrity bullshit. Maybe with a slower board more niche or obscure titles might linger a bit to get some discussion.

No, fuck off with your shitty general. No worthwhile discussion will come from a topic that encompasses thousands of completely unrelated shows. It's just a blatant excuse to blog and circlejerk. Make a discord already and stop coming here.

>Not really. What do you think he was talking about when he mentioned shonen?

a lot of old shounens are still getting anime but I guess that's fair, I still don't think that'd be the case since the same doesn't go for /vr/ and most people who read the newer itterations of, say, DB, don't talk about it as "retro", so they'd never show up in the first place.

>If people wants to talk about it, they'll talk about it and if they don't want, they won't no matter how many generals you make.
Not necessarily, being in a thread with people more interested in retro/obscure stuff helps a lot, last time I was here I posted about Oraa Guzura Dado among other Tatsunoko anime and got far more responses than I think would ever happen in a dedicated thread to it here on Zig Forums, especially with how fast Zig Forums moves.

I watched some episodes of Grimm's Fairytale Classics recently and its still charming. I didn't even know what anime was when I watched it as a kid. I wasn't expecting the crazy nostalgia rush from the opening song.

That hats pretty cute too.

Cute hat thread

You and the other triggered people who complain about these threads are the only consistently shitty parts about them. Who care if people are always talking about Urusei Yatsura and Ashita no Joe all the time. Talking about some obscure show with 5 anons in one of these threads is better than talking with 0 anons in a thread that slides off page 10 because those 5 people who actually know what it is, missed it.
