How come this immortal teenage vampire pedo ghostbuster is the least interesting of all the protagonists in the show?
How come this immortal teenage vampire pedo ghostbuster is the least interesting of all the protagonists in the show?
The show is bad enough without him
He's a self-centered, thankless asshole that's why.
It's not, it's good. You are wrong.
Because he's the protagonist of a male demographic light novel. None of them are interesting no matter how many backstories and flaws you pile onto them.
Because he's the author's self-insert.
Let's not forget he exploits people around him and their problems for his own amusement and then casts them aside when he's done.
Because you like girls.
>the page that made mathfags seeth
I do, but Kaiki is also based
How intelligent is Nisio really?
If wanted to read text and sometimes see some good art Id go for a light novel or a manga
Not an anime like shitmonogatari
Because otaku prefer this
Because he reaches Touma and Subaru levels of retardation and cuckery.
Shinbo is a hack.
Kanbaru should have been the MC.
FACT
That's Oh!Great though, maybe he's as intelligent as his writing skills indicate.
For good reason, at least they're not as retarded as generic shounen hero cuck or retard on the street doing tricks to impress the omega chicks.
Because you haven't seen Owarimonogatari.
How so?
Arararagi prides himself being good at math, shamelessly, only to forget why he’s good at math later on.
Because he never ACTUALLY fucks up unlike like Pic Related
>teenage
already answered
He's barely got a personality aside from being a repressed douche. A friend of mine said he thought most Monogatari fans would relate most to him of all the characters a few days ago and it blew my mind. But I guess people claim to "relate" to "characters" such as Satou, Shinji, the guy from Tatami Galaxy, etc. So I shouldn't be surprised.
He never seems to really fuck up big time like others do, ie Keiki failing to trick snek, or Oshino failing to negotiate with Guillotinecutter
Most problems that come his way seem to be, if anything, the result of others' mistakes, and the few mistakes he does make just don't seem that alarming, like him turning into a vampire because he keeps using his vampirism to help others.
I'd watch a full cour season of Keiki going around doing detective shit with a snowy backdrop while familiar characters make cameos here and there and interact with him, giving him clues and stuff.
Koi was an excellent arc.
All LN protagonists are shit, no exceptions.
Arararagi was never that interesting and it was a crucial part of this character. The dude is so fucking boring, friendless, and average that it drives him to depressive suicide in Kizu. The ending of the novel just has him and Kisshot accepting their mutual misery and accepting that a happy resolution for their lives isn't possible.
Of course this is actually an interesting concept for a character but it became easier for the plot for Araragi to stay a bland character with good banter skills.
if he's as intelligent as his H-manga is sexy then we might be talking about the smartest man on Earth
Kino exists so you’re incorrect
I'd say Shinji and Tatami Guy are of a different breed simply because their personal problems Actually Cause Issues in their respective series.
Shinji: Breaks down at the Most Crucial Moment as a build up of 22 episodes of Stress and constant good performance because he just needs a Fucking Break, but that ends up invalidating all his and his acquantinces prior work and sacrifices.
Tatami Guy: Every episode is him going out into the world, fucking himself over, blaming Ozu because he cannot accept that, and repeating until he Changes Behaviour to do what he set out to and get the girl.
And then there's Araragi, who despite Pushing Effects of problems away never Actually Causes Any through his own fault. His perverted antics aren't a vice that act as a stress reliever to anything meaningful, he's just Doing It and being met with "Haha, funny Araragi". If he was not there the girls would still have their issues, but in situations like Kanbaru's the narrative makes him take on that issue like it's his own, he's just some fucker with a Martyr conflict looking for a hill to die on, and I'm tired of that being Overlooked. Read Zaregoto, Iichan is an ACTUAL GOOD FUCKUP protagonist.
They are of a mildly different breed but the similarity between them is that none of them have any personality. Araragi probably feels the most like an actual human and not some screenwriter's hate synch creation of any of them. The point you made about how those characters dig their own holes but Araragi doesn't is a good one, and there is post modern aspect of Monogatari where everything seems to resolve itself, but would we not say his treatment of Nadeko got himself into trouble in that relationship?
