Hasn't Zoro killed hundreds of fodder though? They aren't angels for sure, but not really evil either. I actually think that their morals have played a big role into how they've become that successful as pirates in such a short notice. No friend is left behind, they actually help people in trouble which gets them a ton of favors and in general they're pretty well liked anywhere they go. I personally think that its pretty based to live by a moral code like that, especially in the dark and shitty world of one piece.
