When will the LN Protag finally die off?
When will the LN Protag finally die off?
When authors realize that "brilliant, but lazy" is just a coping mechanism for not having achieved anything in life despite having the knowledge to do so. Give it time.
At least 8man knows that he's being edgy because he doesn't too much of a coward to actually be hurt. The rest can go die.
never unless loser teens looking for escapism die off which won't happen
Will the shounen underdog ever die off? No.
I don't get the hate these characters keep getting, shouldn't most of Zig Forums be comprised of loners?
It's unhealthy how these characters affirm reclusive/anti-social behavior. Watched mostly by loner teenagers who are prone to having unrefined perspective due to lack of social interaction, they'll develop a big ego instead of facing the reality that they are in some aspects inferior and should look to improve instead.
Isn't the whole point of 8man's existence is that he keeps doing shit wrong becauae of his mentality?
Him knowing makes it worse because he accepts it.
This
Shit taste, these MCs are top tier
When the demographic of LNs and LN anime adaptations changes. Don't you get it, user? We did this for you. They're all LITERALLY you. You're a nihilistic loner, with a wicked sense of humor, that given the chance to interact with a beautiful girl, or several beautiful girls, they'd all fall for you.
Shh, don't listen to the people saying you're coping for your unfulfilling life via anime, these guys are you. You are them.
As long as YOU enjoy anime, they will exist, to remind you you have a place in the animated world.
>I care about what other people like
Obsessed
He still doesn't get girls attracted to him because that? Sure, it causes a lot of drama but that is far more that the average user
virgin 8 v. chad masturbation master
Chicks dig the monster of responsibility, which is kind of like Shirou's seigi no mikata autism.
He stops accepting it eventually.
I agree to a point. But when it comes to harmful ideas popularized by Light Novels. This one is low, very low.
Not because of that as much as in spite of that. Things only go somewhere after he pretty much drops the mentality.
8man>Oreki>50%man
Being a loner isn't cool though. Even when I was a loner teenager these kind of characters made me cringe. It's just a wish fulfillment fantasy of "What if everyone secretly thought I was really cool for not having friends?"
Same, it's just some weird refusal to admit you really are at the bottom
Being a loner isn't cool. But it does beat the opposite when you hate most of your classmates. Which doesn't really happen in Japanese schools because, far as I can tell, they don't herd together the autistic dredges of society and throw them all in one place.
It's just another way of showing the underdog protagonist but in a high school setting. The first few chapters has the teacher force him into a club room with the school idol beauty who's pretty much everything in the book (flawless looks, rich and best student). He was a nobody at the start of the story and then he eventually was able to do handle big projects. It's like Son Goku wasn't the strongest but eventually he became the most powerful.
I guess. Bad comparison, by the way. Considering Goku actually was the second strongest character in the first arc of Dragon Ball.
Hyouka does the exact opposite of painting Oreki being a loner as cool
Depending if you consider pic related the progenitor of the Loner LN protags, its been going going strong for at least 17 years.
forgot pic.
I already told you fags. LN shit is for self-insertion. LNfags fancy themselves as these interesting men that aren't given a fair shake with women. Thus the overabundance of essentially the same character.
Kyon's not a loser or a loner though. He's snarky but he had friends before he met Haruhi
When I watched the original DB, I remember Goku losing alot of fights. People like Yamcha gave him problems.
Yamcha was actually pretty capable in the original arc. Even then though, he only managed to win the first fight with Goku because he was hungry.
He has as much friends as oreki
Goku was a unstoppable force of nature, even roshi only beta him because his legs were tinier.
Taopaipai is the first time goku actually flat out loses a fight from being straight up outclassed
Wasn't one of Kyon's earliest character trait also, that he puts zero effort into things.
I don't know its been years since I've watch haruhi but form what I remember the only difference between him and the trio in OPs post is
>one group is a bunch of snarky nihilistic loners with no friends to their name and somehow gets multiple love interests
>the other is a snarky nhilistic normalfag with maybe a few acquaintances at best and somehow gets multiple love interests
Chitanda doesn't have feelings for Oreki, she seems gay for the tomboy tsun girl.
>Taopaipai is the first time goku actually flat out loses a fight from being straight up outclassed
He also loses a fight to the Pilaf Gang's robots in the first arc. But I guess that doesn't quite count as being outclassed.
