Plebs discovering Princess Tutu is one of the worst things that has happened to Zig Forums in recent time
I think when she recovers the fear shard. That's when it becomes serious business pretty fast. It's like Madoka's episode 3
Episode 1
Episode 5 was so cool!
this
>“The prince regained his kindness, but all it illuminated was the duck’s unhappiness.”
I was impressed by the twist. It starts like Sakura Card Captors with the "recover the mcguffin" plot, but as Ahiru/Duck did it, I wondered 'hey, isn't she only recovering negative emotions? Won't that have a bad effect on the prince?' and then the fear shard episode comes in. And the way she questions her own role in the story and how it turns into a battle of free will is awesome.
This.
Princess Tutu is not the kind of anime that "gets good" or has any lulls. What people like about Tutu is its production, direction, aesthetics and atmosphere. If you're not immediately in love from episode 1 you're not going to enjoy the rest.
Princess Tutu is a tribute to the act of storytelling. Every detail is lavishly exquisite, and for its entire runtime I am actively thinking "This is everything that is good about fiction".
Please stopping watching oldnigger anime expecting it to be like something its not
When guitar ninjas make an appearance.
Also how many of you faggots have read 'This Pendent Heart'? I think it's pretty good, could be a worthy continuation to the story.

So episode 6...need to watch it.
In Episode 5 she recovers a positive emotion tho
it gets good in that episode where the nutcracker played
then it becomes super good when das große tor von kiew played
you should be asking where the guitar ninjas at though, because it's not that cool, just really good
what episode is this?
It's a secret.
why people call Tutu a Utena-lite version?
>What people like about Tutu is its production, direction, aesthetics and atmosphere. If you're not immediately in love from episode 1 you're not going to enjoy the rest.
That could be it. I've always loved fairytales so the way it started was not annoying at all. I love Ahiru's energy and optimism. Still the way the narrator told a short story during the intro always made me think there was more than cute magical girl doing cute magical things. And wow, I was impressed. By Swan's Lake and the second half I knew we reached epic territory.
The lake of despair when Drosselmeyer forces Fakir to write a story about how Ahiru dances into despair and dies, and then he stabs his arm to stop made me cry.
Utena is okay, but sometimes one just wants to enjoy an anime without overly abstract symbolism. Also it's too gay at times.
Yeah but since it's Drosselmeyer's story, he will find a way to turn that positive emotion into a bad ending such as making Fakir realize Mytho is changing and thus needs to take drastic measures to stop him and Tutu
I gotta rewatch it one of these days.

We have one comfy thread reach bump limit a week ago and now the corona tourists won't stop posting low quality bait threads.
Both are "weird" takes on prince x princess stories, I guess. They have this fairytale motif too (way more consistent in Tutu). I also find their humor similar at times, personally. Since Tutu a more child-like presentation it would be the lite version of the comparison. I don't think they're really that comparable though, other than both being pretty unique works with a few tropes in common. They don't even work with the same themes.
People who hype it up to be some groundbreaking masterpiece are retards. It's just a really good show with great atmosphere/visual direction, charming characters, and neat thematics. The plot itself is very straightforwad and repetitive, and not the appeal. It's the things that surround it.
I've watched it twice. I haven't been able to watch more because it's emotionally heavy, at least to me
True
>emotionally heavy
>a girlish anime
That's embarrassing user
Both are similar in themes (deconstructing fairy tale tropes, defying fate, defeating the entity that has power over them, ...) Ohtori is really similar to this show’s setting too, it’s a close space where very weird things happen and time doesn’t flow correctly.
Sure sure user, whatever you say. If you don't like it you shouldn't even be in this thread. There's much more to life than shitposting
I love this villain. He got actually good reasons for being angry and yet he's so despicable for loving the suffering of others that much. At least Kyubey is doing it for a 'good cause'
>He got actually good reasons for being angry
is it explained?
But his story was kinda entropy-ish, saying that every story needed a hint of darkness to truly be beautiful. So sort of a cosmic payment like Kyubey's.
Zig Forums, I challenge you. Have a thread about Utena that doesn’t mention Evangelion nor Princess Tutu, or a thread about Princess Tutu that doesn’t mention Utena nor Madoka.
It took 3 posts for someone to mention Madoka and...
...And there you have it. The discussion of this fantastic show is apparently now tied to other shows 100% of the time for some reason.
He and his family line were famous for their power to spin tales into reality. So the nobles had him craft tales where they got rich and things went well on the village. As time passed, they started to fear his power because they believed he was the one in control of their destinies, not them. So they decided to barge into his shop one day, cut off his arms and left him bleeding on the ground. He swore revenge so he walked to the clock tower and with the stumps of his bloody arms, he crafted a tale where he became a ghost who turned the town into a fairytale so he could torture them forever.. We don't know if he was a bad person or what he was like, but the real Drosselmeyer is dead, the one we see is just a figment of imagination created by the real one to continue his tasks after death.
I think they would be best friends. Kyubey would find him beneficial but not understand why he enjoys his job so much and think it makes no sense. Drosselmeyer would find Kyubey a bore but enjoy his trolling style.
Don't give a fuck about your challenge, let the people discuss what they want. If you don't like it, kindly fuck off, faggot.
Drosselmeyer interrupting episodes out of the blue and hinting at tragedy was always a highlight
If you do like the show, you should give a fuck because the discussion about it is being limited to a vehicle to talk about other shows. It might be just me who cares about this, though.
Oh I forgot, they also destroyed his books so he could never write again, just in case. They just didn't expect he would think of writing a story using the blood from his stumps. That must have hurt like a bitch.
He has such a penchant for theatrics. I love that guy
Yeah you're the only retard who cares. If they keep the discussions alive and people are having fun, who cares. Also provide discussion material instead of just complaining like a whiny bitch
he was certainly metal
Bonus points for not mentioning Cardcaptor Sakura. It's just how people are unfortunately.
>he crafted a tale where he became a ghost who turned the town into a fairytale so he could torture them forever
So the real evil are the other characters
how many points for mentioning mahou tsuka tai?
>provide discussion material instead of just complaining like a whiny bitch
I do have other posts ITT talking about the show itself, that was just an observation.
That's semi relevant because of the shared staff, but it's very different, especially with all the fanservice.
user tutu is one of the few mahou shoujo titles that have pointy nipples on the transformation sequence
