It depends on what Law meant with "rightful place". All his doing for becoming a Shichibukai and teaming up with Luffy under the pretense for going after Kaido was in order to take down Doflamingo. All the stuff now looks more him just tagging along unless he really did have another goal after Doflamingo or not.
