There's a difference between canon and continuity, but you seem to equate the two.
The TRUE canon for DBS are Toriyama's DBS scripts. The anime follows the anime continuity, and the manga (I assume) follows the manga.
At the same time, the DBS anime is the "main product" of DBS, while the DBS manga is a "comicalization" in a promotional magazine.
