Yukino is going to be really happy in the last episodes of this season. Yui won't get anything like that, just more crying.

All 3 of them are hurting in their own way.

Yui gets to be friends with them and even yui is happy by the end of the season.

You can't save everyone, eventually some one will get the short end of the stick. There is no such thing as a world where everyone is happy. Hachiman couldn't pick both.

Hachiman and yukino suffering isn't any less terrible. Hachiman literally got PTSD by almost losing Yukino, his fingers were numb to touch as he mentioned. And as for yukino, she was emotionally broken herself.

Haruno is basically saying that their current situation is unhealthy. And over reliance is not a good thing.

It means that the 3 of them are addicted to their relationship to the point where it's toxic. Yukino has lost her confidence and is getting worse as a result. Hachiman loves Yukino relying on him and gains pleasure from it. He uses excuses to give help.

Remember when he said that Iroha should watch what she is doing, and Iroha said he's being overprotective. His response was "he has a little sister" and he can't help it. Hachiman is unable to let Yukino do things on her own.

Because Yukino is unable to do things herself. Do you remember in the last episode of season 2 where Yukino says what Hachiman says word for word in the phone call with Haruno? Yukino copies after those she admires.
