Anyone else got bored of anime but still reads manga?
What happened? did i get filtered?
Anyone else got bored of anime but still reads manga?
Mostly, because I can read manga as fast as I want, but I can't do that with anime.
I'll still have to sit to 20 minutes (which is bad if it's slow and/or filler) or play it on double speed, which simply isn't what I watch anime for.
Pretty much, mostly because manga is easier to find niche stuff and I prefer to read the author's intent
You've just ascended. And the other replies are correct as well. Haikyuu's anime is better than the manga though
Kinda bored reading manga too just abunch of gook and chink shit with rom com and isekai...hardly any good shit
I doubt you've read enough manga for the selection to really be an issue. Most people that complain about this look for new manga to read on the front page of MD it seems like.
Stop watching bad anime.
Use the tags so you'll only get the genres you're interested in? lol
Manga is by far the best if you're into specific people and individual visual styles, but I really like how anime has a lot of different steps in the production process and a lot of different places where people bring their own styles to the table.
You're not alone.
Manga is a timeless medium with the art style and results truest to the skill and will of the artist. Anime is a stagnating medium with too much corporate pressure and skill/results divided among too many artists.
I watched a lot more anime years ago, every once in a while I'll pick up a show or two and see what's good.
Reasons:
1) Quality of anime has declined steadily in the past 10-15 years or so, lots of fads, recycled ideas and moeblob shit has made worthwhile shows few and far between
2) I started reading manga more and appreciating that I can set my own pace - I can take my time if I am enjoying each page or speedread it while anime has a set pace and I don't like to do severely autistic shit like skip through shows or watch at x1.5 speed
3) If you enjoy both reading manga and watching anime, there are few cases where the anime adaptation is better than the manga as an experience of the story
There are other reasons but these ones stand out for me
Same user. Manga just conveys the point so much better and there's alot of niche stuff you wouldn't usually get in anime. Also throughout the years anime got harder to stomach due to cringe voice acting and overall silliness and childishness. Not saying manga isn't, but it fares on this part so much better.
This. I actually still have several titles I want to watch, but I can't bring myself to get to them and read a lot of manga instead. I don't mind though.
This
Name 3 10/10 shows that have come out in the last 2-3 years
There are just some panels in manga that the anime can't completely copy or portray the same
This happend to me. not sure how it happend tho.
Same here. Manga's just way more comfortable.
why did they do it? why cheat?
Who?
Never watched anime in the first place
I used to watch only the finest of animes
BUT
As I grow older I just read One Piece now
Did you get into anime first? Even if it's similar types of series I've found burnout happened separately for anime and manga so maybe after a break you'll want to watch it again.
I used to watch Anime using CrunchyRoll and AsianCrush, but I watched on my smartphone. Then the charging port got all messed up and I had to hold the USB wire plug in place to charge my phone and I stopped watching Anime because of it. I then began ordering some manga along with some Witcher books I bought online from Barnes and Noble since they had that "buy 2 manga/graphic novels, get the third free" deal. So I've read the Death Note(black editions) and the Uzumaki(3 in 1 hardcover) series and was planning on starting to buy the Inuyasha VizBig editions. Then I stopped ordering from online because of COVID-19. Trying to get back into Anime but the blu-rays on Barnes and Noble cost a lot and I'm saving up money to buy the whole Claymore series box set after seeing a YouTube recommendation video on Grim Dark Fantasy series.
When I do get back into Anime, I'll probably buy the blu-rays, especially the classic Anime or Anime from before 2010. I used to pirate Anime and even some manga, but I don't really do much pirating these days. Anime these days seem to be focused on teen high school stuff, and before that, the moe characters, although they may still focus on moe.
women
Why does that matter?
Fire Punch
Chainsaw Man
3rd idk
>I have something in common with this guy
Time to jump off a bridge
Manga takes less time.
Just going by thia thread, there seems to be a higher number of anons preferring manga over anime. So would a separate manga board benefit us?
Visual novels and manga are way superior to anime.
