>no isekai crutch
>no stats screen
>just SoL fantasy with great world building
Best manga released this year? Your thought Zig Forums?
Sousou no frieren
Yeah, its pretty good. Nice exploration of how having an incredibly long live affects your relation to those who don't.
Stop being a reactionary lowlife.
>with great world building
Nah it's pretty generic to be honest. Maybe the transitions between the past and the present are nice, but i wouldn't count that as world building(?)
It's OK but it's basically a fantasy world version of YKK
> just SoL fantasy with great world building
Yeah no, the world building is weak as fuck.
This is basically just cute girls doing cute things with fantasy backdrop.
>slowlife
instant trash, I read fantasy for ADVENTURE
>great world building
It's just as Dragon Quest as every isekai out there
Nah
nothing about this series is revolutionary or exceptional, just more of the same but with decent writing
it has none of the great character writing, worldbuilding, or art style that ykk had
The setting is boring as fuck honestly.
It's the characters that are very good, especially the excellent use of an immortal character to talk about legacy and grief. It could have worked on any setting really, but having it being classic fantasy is a good excuse to use an elf since it's pretty common knowledge that they are near-immortal so it's easier to sell this whole concept to the audience.
It's very comfy reading. I hope they keep up the pace they are going at. If it starts to drag along it will quickly go to shit.
>great world building
lmao
name 3 peculiar things of that world that make it interesting
Elf is too lazy, the guy that joined them should dick her sometime, even if his dick is apparently small.Elf protege is quite a cow too.
>This is basically just cute girls doing cute things with fantasy backdrop.
Holy shit, really? OP should have just said so. Picked the fuck up.
But I did....
I like this better than majo no tabitabi
>great world building
It doesn't even have any world building. I'm still enjoying it though.
It's super comfy. I guess the story is going towards the direction of a new demon king rising and Frieren being the mentor for a new hero party in the making?
I really like the apprentice girl, forgot her name, her bland expressions are just funny to me.
>no stats screen
But if I don't have any gratuitous stats on screen that makes no sense in-universe, then how am I suppose to know when these character are getting stronger?
>isekai/game world
>good
yeah ok
Did Sam8 killed stats screen? Was it Kishi's plan the whole time?
>time passes
>main characters become stronger and learn more magic
>magic become more modernize and old magic become outdated
Why would you need stats screen for this?
How about the super powered demon guy with his instant death spell that got unsealed 70 years later just to be confronted with the fact that magic research had rendered his super special magic just a normal everyday attack spell with the counter being common place as well?
That's interesting world building in a fantasy story.
>infinite in all stats
I do not shed a single tear for that dumpster fire of a series.
I really liked that guy instantly see through the defensive spell's weakness and go for it. He was still threatening even though his spell went obsolete.
seems like such an incredibly easy writing setup that I don't think the author will be able to keep up quality if the degree of difficulty increases, i.e. when they have to write shit actually happening.
>quantitative stat system in the first place
instantly garbage, the only series that it fits in is Log Horizon to me, since the plot was the game world was becoming more real progressively.
My favorite weekly SoL right now. Won me with atmosphere.
So this is why in most isekai demons sabotage human's magic system.
>SoL
You mean Slow Life, in which case into the trash it goes.
cultivation shit does it all time
>incredible. he just made a breakthough into the burning earth dragon realm
>impossible! He is already in the middle rank stage?!
Would LoTR have a better story if the party had stat screens?
Immediately undermines its own gimmick of following an immortal over a long period of time by adding a human sidekick, converting it into yet another Dragon Quest LN.
That's not To your Eternity.
