I haven't seen the anime or cartoon show or whatever it is, but someone who's a hero to the people like Adolf Hitler or slave owners in America that stood for the liberation of slaves, or Genghis Khan have all been vilified. Galilei also became a hero despite everyone around him thinking he was an idiot. The same goes to a lot of other artists and philosophers, it's only through history that they get their titles. A better thing to say than "heroes are the victors" is that there are no heroes, and no villains, only righteous people and righteous people who have lost their way because they fought against virtues.
