I felt sad about deaths in edgy manga at first. After reading several edgy manga and realizing that almost every character in them is going to greatly suffer, it's hard to feel sad. At this point you know exactly what to expect and prepare for.

We knew this was Aki's last arc, I mourned his death a couple of chapters ago but I have since got over it. Also his death was pretty peaceful.

Every time a character dies in the series people lose their shit and start complaining. Himeno, Reze, Beam, Violence, Quanxi TWICE, now Aki. Pretty sure it's the same retards every time as well.

People bemoaning Aki's fate in general forget that he continuously made the worst decisions out of selfishness despite being advised otherwise several times. I know it was PTSD and he was stuck on that day 13 years back, but that's how it is. He also had a very good ending despite all the shit he unconsciously did up until his death.

Alternatively, you could argue that his actual death was during Gun devils appearance where he was named in the death toll and Makimas ability used Akis post-Mortem contract, to be exact.
But why would he go to Makima in that case?

As usual with the Future devil, he could’ve just been showing Aki something completely different and troll the shit out of him
