Usually they are just as out of place as the dungeons they are placed in.
Placing armies in mazes is not sensible, and living in the last room with no direct way out is terribly inconvenient, especially if you are the leader and probably supposed to be doing things sometimes. Setting traps on your way out of the office is going to bite you in the ass, at the latest when you are trying to take a toilet break.
Have you considered that maybe you, the "dungeon boss" may actually be its prisoner?

A few months ago I could hear something scurrying around the attic. Multiple rats. Bought a few spring loaded rat traps and cut up a small slim jim to use as bait it was a pack of 14 and I probably won't eat one. Ever.. The next day at around 7 pm I heard a loud bang, followed by a ton of small thuds. I waited about 10 minutes for it to stop, then I went up in the attic. The trap had almost completely cut off the rat's head. The small thuds were its body mindlessly moving around afterwards. Despite its obvious death, there was a problem. This was a male rat. Now the rats are back, which means either the rats grew up or there's more rats because of absolute fucking retards like . I think there's about 6, but I only have 5 traps. Bets on which one I'll catch first?

The key metric is whether or not people mistake her for a boy whether in-universe or out. Besides, all reverse traps take their cues from Oscar Francoise de Jarjayes, so they'll all usually be super pretty and attract other girls while also being hot enough to attract guys. The point of a reverse trap isn't to trick you, but to have a female play the cute bishounen that gets dommed by the more manlier, assertive dude so that girls could self-insert into that couple while retaining the gay male-homosex. Consider the difference between traps and reverse traps. Traps usually have such a feminine appearance that it’s hard to tell they’re even male unless you observe their sexual characteristics (genitalia, skeletal structure, etc). Traps are usually used in a story for a comedic effect because of how attractive they are to men. For a reverse trap, one should expect the opposite to be true, meaning that it is hard to tell they are female if their primary sexual characteristics aren’t visible, and that they have the appearance of an attractive boy or man. On the other hand, the example you’ve given of a “reverse trap” is more androgynous than masculine. I would say that picrel is a much better example of a reverse trap since she doesn’t look like a little boy.

I mean again, the minimum requirement for a reverse trap to be a reverse trap is for people to mistake her to be a boy. Whether she looks like a man or is super androgynous is irrelevant when people mistakenly believe she has a penis. Though you do bring up a good point. Traps are usually used in stories for a comedic effect while the opposite is true for reverse traps. Sometimes they're the MCs of the story itself or other times they provide a mature presence in the story despite being the same age/a year or two older than the MC (like Itsuki from HC), but they fill a more dramatic role in stories compared to traps.
