I think Luffy can sense people's future while Kata sees the future around him, I think a main difference would be that Kata might be able to see the FI box explode but Luffy wouldn't unless someone intentionally wanted to detonate it.

I dunno user, he was able to give Hyou instructions several steps ahead of immediate intent so he could btfo the Llama gifted. I could buy Luffy only predicting based off emotions if he only was able to predict the immediate next move, not several steps ahead.
