How is $1mil not enough to make it...

How is $1mil not enough to make it? with a 4% return you get about $3500 per month usually the stock market gives around 8-10% by what I've read but lets just count on the low side and go with 4%, you guys must be planning to spend an insane amount of money

i wont make it with my puny 114 link stack

With 1m$ you would stake it for a 3.8% monthly return in a stablecoin like DAI. No* risk and a lot of money to be made while jacking it to hentai. We are all gonna make it

Most economists expect the stock market to return less than the historic average going forward. And you have to factor in inflation as well. So 6%/ year is really only 4% a year if you want to protect your savings against inflation. And on top of that you'd probably want to have a margin of safety. The stock market COULD trade sideways for for 10+ years if you're unlucky (just look at Japan).
$1MM is enough to survive in most first world countries for the rest of your life, but it's not enough if you want to be able to travel a decent bit, eat good food etc.

And don't forget about taxes too.
> no risk
if something returns 3.8%/ month (lol) then I can assure you that there's tons of risk. Or inflation.

I spend 4k a month just to live dude. I have a Tesla and live in a mortgaged townhouse w/ a 1 car garage in the suburbs of a major US city (no kids). Yes I could live cheaper and easily get this down to 2500 or so by renting a small apartment and get a cheap car but desu I enjoy life a lot more now that I have a nicer car and more space. I make 11-12k a month after tax so I still save shitloads of cash each month. $1mil will only allow you to withdraw 40k a year (but to be safe, it's more like 30k) and this assumes you don't pay tax on gains/divvies which you probably will. Retiring early on $1m is really only viable if you have a paid off house and/or live in bumfuck America or third world. Also you can comfortably retire on 1m if you are 60-70 years old and plan to draw down the principal until you die.

thanks for the optimism
i will be thankful even if i tap out at a million although i hope i make more

Basically youre a good goy, a top notch guy.

25 percent so like.... 250,000 dollars

Fornicate this homosexual planet

1 mil is 30k annual. 2.5 mil is needed for 80k annual

>good goy, waste your entire youth living like a homeless person just so you can be rich when you're 65 and can't get it up anymore

I was planning on living in Tokyo, doesn't sound too expensive based on the information google gives you: cost of living for a single working person in Tokyo is between ¥140,000 (1,268USD) and ¥194,000 (1,757USD) a month, including rent, food, discretionary spending, transportation, and taxes and insurance.

So I figured if I can get double that I'd live pretty good

You sound like a friend of mine. He's a collosal douche and weighs like 350lbs.

Actually, I was talking about taxes on your gains after you retire, but yea..

Checked

Double chuck’s
Agreed. Risk factor x10

3500/month here is above above average
Nobody forces you to buy iphones and pay 200/month for it
nobody forces you to lease cars and pay insurance for it, road taxes
nobody forces you to eat at restaurants every single day
nobody forces you to have kids and wife
nobody forces you to be "Look at the size of my wallet" kind of guy
Yes, majority of humans can't count their spending and lives on credits.
Not me.
Reminder, hoes are cheaper then wifes.

If you don’t put your fake fiat savings into gold and silver at least in part you will be fucked

3.5% rate of return is safe to consider.

I just need 3-4 Mill and I’ll be good.

I always like playing around with how I'd generate income off 1 mil.

Don't forget REITs. Some of them even pay a monthly dividend and payout anywhere from 3% to 10% fixed rate every year.

A portion of your net worth in one can give you a pretty comfy income.

$3500 per month isn't nearly enough for the kind of lifestyle I plan on having.
Try $3500 per day.

In most us cities rent will take up 2/3 of that

>steaking

I would interject and say that most people involved in finance expect the stock market to return less due to demographics and lower rates.

Economists are worthless and should not be cited.

That sounds actually pretty good. I always thought Tokyo would be way more expensive. Thanks user

tfw will never have to worry about only having $1m after buying a SMALL BAG of CAP

So don't live in an urban shithole. There's no reason to be in one of those unless it's for school/work
