It’s not hated at all, it’s actually extremely popular. Sure, there is a vocal minority of people who hate it like all popular shows, but that doesn’t mean most dislike it.

Daily Lives of Highschool Boys and Nichijou aren't hated. By far these series seem to be widely accepted as achieving what they set out to do, being funny and fun.
And that's way more than people would expect from your generic comedy+X, these days.

its a show about appreciating day to day life, all of the crazy stuff just hides that most of the stuff the characters are doing are just normal activities
the hate comes from not understanding this and expecting it to constantly throw mediocre jokes in your face
