Is it a bad idea to joke around during interviews

Not if you're Chad.

Haha what a kidder. You've got the job!

HAHAHAHAHAH, we'll let you know™.

It's really hard to say and depends on the interviewer. I literally got asked what video games I play as part of my interview

Depends on your level of autism

The fact you have to ask this indicates you are autismo.

Everyone jokes around, and your personality and ability to interact with other people determines your success in the job.

If you joke like a retard, stutter and wring your hands together, it'll be shit.
But if you joke like a human being it's fine

once they deviate from work related talk your chances are effectively 0 and you should get the fuck out asap

Not true. Personal questions could mean anything.

I do that shit all the time and I’m batting an .800 interview to offer ratio.

Best thing to do in an interview. You want to small talk so much that they don't even ask the boring dry shit and then when they are looking over candidates they actually remember you.

I have worked there for 6 years now

i'll have a coke

no. just dont joke about actually funny stuff. If I were you, I'd steer away from any joke where the words: nigger, faggot, bitch, retard could be used.

Literally the dumbest shit I've ever heard. If you relate with the interviewer than your pretty much set on getting a job. Nobody wants to work with a stuck up boring aspie which is why they ask you about your hobbies. I got a job once talking to the interviewer about how Trump was the superior choice over Hillary.

It sounds like you’ve only applied to minimum wage jobs

Yes now that I've worked there a while I found out later he asked because I was great for the position but since it was engineering it gets a lot of really weird guys and they wanted to make sure I'd fit in the culture there

the aristocrats

Absolutely wrong, the best interviews I've ever had didn't even talk about the job, we just shot the shit for a while

I am incredible at interviews and first impressions in general, can only really maintain the idealized version of my personality for short bursts however. Never have not gotten a call back.

The short answer is, it depends. Some interviewers (most), are all for it, but there are a select few who are insecure and take any jostling as disrespect. Most important thing is timing, a well placed comment. Irregardless of the individual, if you ace the timing, they'll be forced to appreciate it in some form.

Interviews?!?! Bitch did you not go to an Ivy league school, join a frat, act like an all around stand up guy, and network your tits off with other people in your realm of study?!?!

Sucks to be such an ignorant bitch.... My last "interview" was for an upper management position, with an old frat brother of mine. The interview literally consisted of seeing which one of us could STILL shotgun a beer faster. I let him win, but he let me have a 280k salary, a hot as fuck 20 something secretary, and a company Mercedes. Oh and I do no real work other than passing off reports to the board of directors. My middle management team does ALL the heavy lifting.

What a larp.

Take a time stamp of the Mercedes or your a bullshitter...

I'm the opposite, cannot for the life of me make a good first impression, but every community/job/group of friends I've ever had start to like me given enough time. I think I simply cannot emulate normie behaviour, even if I tried my best it would just look like a cheap fabrication

>go to interview at 10:00am
>put in small internal room with no windows, all sterile white with only a table and two chairs on each side
>various people come in to interview me, sometimes multiple people with 1 sitting and others standing int front / behind me
>rooms has almost no ventilation and it started getting crazy hot and people farted multiple times throughout the day
>around 12:30 they ask if I want lunch
>I say sure, and they give me a menu from this deli, but keep interviewing me, asking me questions
>about 15 minutes later they randomly asked me if I know what I want yet, so I just pick the first decent thing I see on the menu
>2:00pm and I've been getting grilled for 4 hours and still don't have lunch and and fucking starving, food finally comes
>they don't even give me a break to eat just keep grilling me and I'm looking at the sandwhich while wondering if I should eat or focus on answering their questions, and if this is some sort of sick game
>4:00pm and the interview is finally done.
>they ask me if I want to tour the office
>the guy literally take me to the stair well at one point and show me how far down it goes
>the guys tells me "if I pushed you off this thing do you thing you'd hit the ground or get mangled by one of the rails on the way down"
>my mouth is so dry at this point I can't even speak so I just stand there in silence preparing to brace myself if he makes a move

Did you get the fuckin job or not?

Can confirm all my interviews consist of a little shit talk before the interviewer proceeds telling me what I'll be doing, implying I've already got the job
I'm autistic as fuck but I've never had a boss that didn't like me almost immediately and I do not understand why

high chance you're larping but it's possible the
guy interviewing him's dad is probably on the board of directors. kids slightly retarded, but got the job because of said dad. I've seen it happen before. Wouldn't be surprised if said kid brings in more incompetent morons on board. Give the company like 10 years if it's currently successful.
Also kid could have had SAT prep since like 6th grade, tutors, major connections with ivy league. Scenario isn't impossible but unlikely in short

Imagine being so fucking beta that even in your dreams you are like: "...oh im sorry i hope this doesnt ruin our friendship" HAHAHAH

Fuck how pathetic is your life that you actually take his bait?

I followed up every two weeks for a couple months but never heard back.

Wow what the fuck. You probably don't want to work there.

Last two times I got asked about video games during the interview I got the job.

Last times I wasn't asked about video games during the interview I didn't get the job.

I do not work in video games. One was a tech support thing (I do not have tech support experience) and one was cash counting at a security firm.
