>crying
Pussy.

Why does he have a sausage head?

punpun is honestly the greatest manga of all time, no other manga's story has impacted me more before
it's because it felt natural and human while also having beautiful art, glad to own the entire physical set even if it was expensive, i still flip through the volumes from time to time

>crying over hack writing
pathetic

shitty tragedy wank

oh ya know what i forget what the manga is called.... anyone? read a long time ago

Goodnight Punpun

wow, what a loser, he only fucked like what, three girls?

I don't really feel like this is overrated, but I honestly just stopped caring about punpun as a protagonist. I can recognize it as a good work, but the story just really loses me in the end.

I would not call this story human. In fact I would go as far to call it inhuman based on the presentation and characters. Theres nothing off the top of my head that I can compare it too either.

every Punpun chapter: NOOOOOOOOOOOO IM DEPRESSED!!!

This garbage is worse than that Horseguy cartoon

Good Morning Pico

Sola was better.

I imagine that's a pretty general feeling. The story meanders far too much, and dives too deeply in its indulgences, for it to really hit your soul. It is a great work, of course -- and you will definitely feel somewhat moved at the moment of its end. But it doesn't have the artistry for a lasting impression. Just like Aiko's memory, it gets fainter and fainter, and one day you hardly think about it anymore, except when you're reminded or you remind yourself.

>not crying
enjoy your aneurysm in about 15 years

Enjoy being a faggot.

What's with this thread? Is it trendy to hate on punpun now?

>Theres nothing off the top of my head that I can compare it too either
Aku no hana? It lacks the aesthetics though.

It's another pretty good manga that you just end up forgetting because by the end everyone is so comically miserable that you stopped being able to relate to anything.

Just finished reading this today; I know this feel.

Even if the events didn't line up, the high school portion's similarity to my own experience dug it even deeper. Never before have I found a manga so surreal and brutal, yet so human.

11/10
BITCH DESERVE TO DIE! HAPPY END!

The story is definitely depressing as fuck but at no point did it make me sad. maybe if you identify with Punpun a lot I could see that, but that would mean you're a shitty person

i always hated it

That fucking page where he confessed in the gym blew me away

Everything was perfect but the last arc
Just what the fuck was going on

Dr.Slump

buenas noches Juan

I definitely lost track of where the story was going but I don't think a focused plot would even work for the later half of the story. Aiko's arc already felt like a slightly forced attempt at a conclusion.

>kills girl's psychotic mother in self-defense
>believes he is evil for this
>goes on a retarded roadtrip
>girl's mental health plummets
>kills herself
>guy carries on life as usual
I read downfall as well and I swear this mangaka just has a hard on for piece of shit protags.

whats the point of stories like this? most people can't relate to any of it, the only people who can are broken/depressed people, and this just makes them feel worse
why?

>finally feels his life is where it should be, with the girl he ""loves""
>is the one who advocated for meeting girl's mother, causing the two of them to be forced to kill her
>instinctively flees instead of calling the cops due to shock and being stupid kids
>has stupid kid idea to continue to evade the law and live with her by roadtripping (and to protect him - and later her as well - from the police, as they're now wanted)
>evading law means he's literally watching his girl bleed out from her stab wound and knows it's his fault, unable to take her to the hospital
>they both spiral in mental health
>she commits suicide to free him of the burden - he also tries to commit suicide yet fucks that up too
>implied he goes to jail, later has to care for another man's child with a woman he doesn't really love, surrounded by people he can't really give a shit about and who don't understand anything he went through (or at least that's what he'll tell himself)
Punpun is a piece of shit in many ways, but nothing about the ending arc makes him one
For me, these kind of stories have always helped remind me that I'm not the only one who's had these thoughts or been through these experiences. It's reassuring in a way - that unlike Punpun at the end, we can be sure there's at least a few people out there that understand us.

I thought it was a beautifully written story, the main themes are present throughout every arc, the main character has development constantly, the internal monologues were actually interesting. My favorite part though is the art because it's realistic enough to pull you into its dark atmosphere yet if you take a step back the mc's a bird, god is a funny man with an afro (or a poopman in a spaceship), and when punpun thought his crush had a bf he turned into this. Love this manga

sure, it makes broken and depressed people feel bad. but it's cathartic, too.
