Why was Fire Force met with such a poor reception? I enjoyed watching it, and the animation was amazing.

because even the average weeb has some taste
Coincided with Promare. Similar concept but much better.
I only watched it for Maki as you have posted.
Because normies got filtered by the cat stripper
I check it out, thanks user
lol no, promare is dogshit
You should probably just watch and enjoy it. I do the same. Don't really care about what other people think.
I had it on my backlog for a while because the premise seemed really one dimensional, even for shounen. I wasn't fully proven wrong when I finally got around to watching it, but it was better than I expected.
I'm not surprised it didn't take off though.
Yea, I'm still going to watch it. Just got pumped watching it, and wanted to geek out, and it felt like no one else was into it. People seem to like the side characters more than the MC, but that's how I feel about every anime desu. It skips so much of the fluff and gets right into the fights, which are beautiful.
because no one wants to watch a bog standard shounen they've already seen a million times over.
Just stick to the weekly episode threads. They are decent.
The characters are boring. The author makes everyone goofy to compensate for the lack of depth; much like wan piss.
They're both shit.
The live action was pretty good
Yeah definitely this Shame as there's a buffet of top-tier girls for the heterosexual
Normalfags get filtered by cat, but cat was not enough to attract the weebs.
The "comedy" was too cringe, even by nipponese standards.
Too soon, man.
Maki best girl.
Anyhow, as someone said in another thread for it, "Only a retard would like this show. And I love this show"
It's good, ive found that short shonens like this or KnY are more enjoyable than 600+ ep long classic shonen.
>horribly awkward and poorly paced dialogue
>unfunny
>KUBRICK STARE
>praised for 'good animation' but its actually quite lazy
>reminds me of kyoani
It gets more hate then it deserves. It's not bad and if you enjoy it that's fine but you have to admit that it's fairly mediocre even for a shonen, a genre already drenched in mediocrity.
It does have some cute girls and nice animation; I'll give it that.
I like the setting and the world building, but the story and characters are mostly forgettable shonen 101 shit.
Case in point cat slut is a boring cunt. Nobody is triggered by the fanservice. They're annoyed by her dull-as-dishwater character.
Maki is best girl by virtue of being less obtuse and overbearing.
What are some of your favorite anime, user?
But many watch BnHA and BC
followup to soul eater, a flawed but superficially really well made series, that was blatantly worse than soul eater in every aspect
nobody complained about the constant catgirl fanservice in soul eater because that show also had a female man character who wasn't completely fucking useless despite being in a shounen
I said this before, but I'm not even bothered by having Tamaki fanservice per se. It's just the premise and presentation of it is so fucking retarded. Blair in Soul Eater was just a sexy cat witch doing sexy cat witch things. Which was fine.
>Why was Fire Force met with such a poor reception?
6/10 shounen instead of soul eater: the rest of the manga adaption
it was so fucking boring but I bore with it because of that season 1 OP
I didn't like how poorly timed the fanservice was in the fight with Rekka. It was really disgusting the way an emotionally beat Tamaki got exploited for some cheap fanservice. I don't like her fanservicey gimmick anyway. Other than that it's a good watch
Soul Eater is all style and no substance, while Fire Force is more balanced. In Fire Force the story progresses while exploring an interesting world.
Soul Eater is full of episodes that don't matter, characters that don't matter and locations that don't matter. You could condense the story into an OVA and it would be a lot better.
