What did SSSS. Gridman manage to do that other series couldn't? Rattled a mentally ill user so much so he couldn't stop obsessing over Gridman threads. Yuta is lucky.
SSSS. Gridman
It ended up being the only successful Evangelion spiritual successor in 20 years, understanding the original even better than Rebuild did since Anno is suffering of George Lucas syndrome.
Did a good job with it's CGI animation.
The difference is that Lucas genuinely wanted and thought he was making things better, Anno straight up doesn't give a shit and the ending of Eva 4.0 will have a bullshit ending just to piss off fanboys.
It had something it wanted to say, instead of just saying something like 90% of most other works of any medium.
Here's one thing I appreciated. Gridman did a good job making the mundane seem so mundane, which made all of the mech fighting and action sequences so much more fantastic.

Its a waste of time
There is laziness and there is straight up not understanding what made the series good in the first place.
One random example: the deserted city of Neo Tokyo 3, from the streets Shinji wanders around to the apartment building he lives in. It had a reasonable in universe explanation (the city is essentially fake and just exists in function of Nerv) and a precise function for the tone and meaning of the story (enhancing the feelings of isolation and alienation that follow Shinji everywhere).
All of this is dropped by Rebuild I'm favor of ugly CGI pedestrians swarming in the streets. Meanwhile, Gridman manages to meaningfully recontextualize it within its universe (the city seems deserted as a result of Akane's continuos Kaiju attacks diminishing the population but leaving buildings intact, which is itself one of the ways Akane isolates herself pushing every inconvenience that could relate to real human relationships away).
>yes
>yes
>monsters are attacking, amnesiac and his toaster have to save the city with some help from his friends. Starts off like a standard tokusatsu, but gets good. Also, thighs.
Yes
The IP is owned by Tsuburaya
Google it
lucky yuta
>>is it worth watching?
No
>>is it another collab between trigger and other studios?
Kinda
>>give me a quick rundown of the story
Some random guy who can transform into a giant robot decides to fight a group of monsters to protect his city
It's really good. Give it a try.
Impressive but Nanoha did it way earlier. Which is nothing to brag about. I wish Bitch-kun never happened .
Hey! Have you heard StrikerS and everything set after it isn't canon for the 400th time?
Is the sequel still in the works or did that get rona'd.
>What did SSSS. Gridman manage to do that other series couldn't?
Make a popular anime that's LITERALLY just animated toku.
>Evangelion spiritual successor
But it isn't.
Maybe it was delayed. I expected it for this fall but that clearly it isn't happening.
>for the 400th time
You're too kind.
Great direction. I particularly loved how surprisingly "quiet" the whole thing was, absence of music or overdramatic voice acting that usually is present in anime made some scenes even more tense and eerie.
>Evangelion spiritual successor
Shut the fuck up you stupid secondary
It's derived from the shit Eva ripped off except with the actual blessings of the creators
>Yes
>Yes
>Starts off as toku with giant kaiju fighting, ends up in the realm of existentialism.
Is real good. Not KlK level, but above LWA going by Trigger quality standards.
>Thighs
Its fanservice did not stand upon thighs alone, mi amigo.
FPBP
kino
I liked the slicin
Put me to sleep in the first 5 minutes.
The cgi was horrible and ruins the show's otherwise good aesthetic. It very badly clashes with the character art.
>>is it worth watching?
No.(unless you just want to fap)
>>is it another collab between trigger and other studios?
Sort of. Trigger outsourced most of the work to a non-anime studio or a 3dcg corner cutting studio.
>>give me a quick rundown of the story
it's yuri isekai
Yea. He gets to attend Akane and Rikka's wedding. Such a lucky guy.
>but above LWA going by Trigger quality standards
cringe. this is cheap lifeless trash compared to LWA
