You exaggerate the amount of self-pity in the route. It went into true pity mode only with valentine which is only few chapters. Before that she still acted like her usual herself. I think those few pity chapter are acceptable for a heroine like Fumino. I am especially happy that she managed to resolve those issues and understand why she was wrong.
Also the kiss itself was really sweet. It would be out of character for Fumino to rape Nariyuki like Rizu. It's just 22i failed to make it looks as exciting, experessive and aesthetic as the kisses in other routes which is really disappointing. But instead he made one of the best confession chapters.
Not the perfect route, but it's still the best one so far.

She'll be the next main character in 22i's next project. A spin-off of Bokuben, more exactly of this route, with Nariyuki and Asumi having some rare cameos.
