Is this the most boring fucking battle manga of all time?
Saint Seiya

I don’t get why spics and guidos fawn over this shit so much.
I believe guys.
Zeus arc soon :^ )
Storytime when?
Having a good dub helped, plus bloody fights
I feel like Saint Seiya is only popular in France, Spain and Latin America countries
No it isn't. Read more.
The most popular boring one at least. It's a shame because it was his sell-out manga and has become his defining legacy to most.
Only if it's episode G Assassin storytime.
Is there a shred of personality in this whole manga? Even the fights are dull as watching paint dry.
I'm currently reading, I'm currently at volume 19 (midway trough the poseidon arc)
It's pretty bad it's fun to see all the ways Kurumada made it artificially mainstream
he litteraly mentions selling off in the first volume
also it's really fun if you are a Bleach fun, I can't even count the moments when I went "Oh, this is where Kubo took this and that"
(Fuuma no kojiro is interesting for the same reason, being the base for the shikai/bankai system)
The fight choreography isn't very good but I enjoyed it still. Poseidon arc is my favorite.
The anime is also incredibly popular in Italy, but nobody ever talks about the manga
It works a bit better in anime form since the special techniques are abstract as fuck in static manga drawings. Also, the art sucks.
Italy and portugal too. It's popular in latin speaking countries.
There's a lot of personality in lost canvas and the hades chapters, but yeah, this is a pretty primitive sell out shonenshit manga, it's not easy to get into when you are already into anime, it's a pretty good at entry level and pretty shitty after that, the series works when you are not used to stuff with lore or generic jap capeshit, that is why it was such a great deal in the early and mid 90's in those markets, and that's why it was never that big in japan.
>read more boring manga
I don't want to.
>Get to Poseidon arc
>Ikki notices that the only kind of person that could use Galaxian Explosion is someone like Saga
>says this in the anime which doesn't even show Saga using that move
No.
We had one a long time ago. It was the first time I've read the manga, most people just watch the anime.
Basically the drama. Seeing the characters all bloody and almost dead giving a hotblooded speech about how they will defeat a literal god with a galaxy destroying lightspeed attack with the godlike Toei OST is super hype if you're the target audience (kids) and haven't seen too many anime (it was one of the first aired in those countries).
Armors/clothes are godlike and I love the way Kuromada draws those spreads where he shows you how to assemble them. That the one point the anime does worse. Other than that, no.
This
Is next dimension on hiatusxhiatus?
You're listing the wrong manga.
It's great
>Bleach fun, I can't even count the moments when I went "Oh, this is where Kubo took this and that"
Thank you for bringing this up, everytime I did no one gave a shit. As a fan of Bleach properly reading SS after having watched the some of the anime as a kid was pretty great.
The powers and mechanics are very weird so at least it gives it some flavour
>reverse the blood flow of your body to gain power
>giving somone info by giving then your eye using it as a recording device because "a man always remenbers what was about to kill him"
>tragic flashback punch
>scouter chain that writes in latin
>this meme again
It's worldwide popular, except for anglo speaking countries that turned their eyes from the series when it was on it's peak so today they act like it's overrated dated garbage because they missed it. It's the 4th most lucrative Toei anime franchise, both in Japan and worldwide.
>Dragon Ball and the others
It's boring if you lack testicles
Kurumada recently announced new chapters on his official blog
Yay
China fucking love Saint Seiya, more than Japan ever did
youtube.com
Nowadays the franchise makes most of its money from China
Same. When I was reading it I didn't understand half the stereotypes the fans attributed to the characters until I realized it was from the anime crowd.
Kurumada read a lot of swordsmen novels in his childhood. Also he loves Sanpei Shirato's ninja mangas. Mixing these two sources, along Kurumada's love for mythology, you got Saint Seiya
